Tom Petty - one of my all time favorites
Really gonna miss this guy
Much good music was made in the 80s some of it made by bands that were started in the 70s and they continue to make good music on into the 80s but when someone says 80s music I think of bands along the lines of the cure, oingo boingo, Thompson twins, flock of seagulls.. etc.. for the most part the music was lighthearted and fun.. maybe it just seemed fun because I was in my 20's .. lol
But if I had to take just one band from that era.. it would probably be the Fixx.. good songs, not too "gimmicky" and they actually still perform and sound pretty damn good..
Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun
Great little tune until you read to the lyrics....LOL
Happy birthday to Bjork, who turned 52 today but probably still looks like she's 12.
There are just too many damn good songs from the 80's that I couldn't pick one to post here. I think it was the best era for music though.
I'm kidding, I love the 80's.
Absolute favorite...It's a toss-up between Urgent and Magic. Although, to be fair, Magic was probably recorded in 1979.
I'm not a huge fan of hers but she has such a unique voice. It's timeless.
Joan Jett - I hate myself for loving you (Gawd she was hot!!! )
I'm not a huge fan of hers either. I posted two songs that I liked and there's a couple more, but her other stuff...I've heard it described as 'challenging' and that's a good description. She is one of a kind though.
I've been crazy in love with Joaniee since she was a Runaway How do you not love a woman that would have your back in a bar fight.
And t=yes I know she doesn't like boys...I don't care
