I love being in a kitchen but damn it to hell I hate having burns all the time:mad
That is sad
I made delicious potatoes earlier =D
I enjoy cooking, I hate the clean up.
What did you cook?
I'm not much of a cook myself
Well I am in Culinary school right now, and I am doing my Internship at a fine dining resturant,
Tonight was my first night on grill, I have work in resturants for about three years, but this was the most complicated thing I have ever done, I need to work on my temps, like rare, med, well so on,
Plus the station, grill, is very demanding I have like 7 items and all have like a veg and starch, and I do it all on the station,
So I burnt my self a few times on the oven door and saute pans heated my hand through my towel
Cooking, just like sculpting, painting and sex is an art. You'll burn yourself and mess everything up at least a few times, but keep on cooking and don't be afraid to try things that you think might go together, because that's how you learn and grow. Also, for those of you that don't like cleaning, when you start to try and invent your own dishes, always be sure to have a guinea pig. Because you did the cooking, anyone else there has to clean .
One dish that I make is basically chicken w/ angel hair pasta in an avocado cream sauce.
I kinda fly by the seat of my pants when I cook, so this is not exact
So you need:
Chicken flats (thinly sliced breasts or a breast that is butterfly cut and tenderized a little, you can use a skillet or frying pan)
Angel hair pasta
Some whole milk
a little cream
any seasonings you want for either the chicken or the sauce
The chicken you can either grill up (best) or just pan fry over medium to medium high heat in a little olive oil until cooked.
The pasta should be cooked with a little salt (kosher or sea, I think iodized is icky, except in baking where it shines) and olive oil (helps with the pasta sticking to itself after you cook it)
The sauce is pretty simple. I'd say about a cup of whole milk a small pat of butter (1 tablespoon) in a sauce pan, melt the butter. Then add a dash of cream (1-2 oz, no more). Take your avocado and use only as much as you want it to taste avocado-ey (I use 1/2) and then add the lime juice to the avocado (prevents milk and cream and butter from curdling from lime acidity) Then mash it all up in guacamole and add it to the sauce pan. Mix thoroughly. Now since I don't write this down, you'll have to add milk and water as you see fit. As the water boils away (mainly from the milk) it'll taste and act more like condensed milk. Salt and pepper to taste. Add any flairs of your own (oregano, thyme, basil) and let me know if works out if you try this recipe.
You can also add baby bella mushrooms for a little extra flavor.
This doesn't make a lot of sauce (enough to lightly coat the pasta and chicken for 2). Please take note to adjust.
Hope someone tries and likes this.
Ooh..sounds painful. Reminds me of Hell's Kitchen, which was on tonight
Ocsitate: that recipe sounds wonderful
I enjoy eating
I love to cook, but I'm not very good at it. I'm still learning. And like Ryan, I hate the clean up.
I like to cook sometimes...but normally I'm lazy.. When I move out to my new school I plan on cooking though, don't need to get sick off that fast food crap.

If someone cooked for me I would do the cleaning. I'm a total neat freak! xD
