Just wondering what type of music reigns supreme here. :D

I'm a metal/rock head myself. And I mean, actual metal/rock. I once heard a kid tell me Blink 182 was death metal. :lol I was like, "Dude...go listen to some Children of Bodom or something!"

Most of the time its metals for me. though lately my tastes have been taking me to old jazz and classical, sometimes a little opera here and there.

Yet my testosterone and undying love for insane guitar solos and songs about riding dragons and battling demons with swords made of light always leads me back to my Stratovarius and Dragonforce mixes. Man I cant help it, that stuff is better then coffe!

I like Blues as well as Metal/Rock, there was no option to vote for Blues though. Much of the above grew from blues. Ever heard Savoy Brown? I like all of the above except for Nickleback. Since I have Zeppelin, I have I don't much need Whitesnake. I'd have to add early Blue Oyster Cult; they have the most underrated lead guitar/drummer combo in all of rock. The Who is definitely on my list too. Love the Foo Fighters. I don't think anybody mentioned the Dead yet.
I also like Herb Alpert, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, all big band etc.

I'm a blues girl from way back. I grew up with Etta James, Robert Johnson as well as more modern blues players; Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
    My favotites:
    Buddy Guy
    Debbie Davies
    John Lee Hooker
    Coco Montoya
    the list is endless.
My second passion is classic rock.

Children of Bodom isn't Death Metal. It's genrefied as Power Metal with Harsh Lyrics. It doesn't share the musical structure of Death Metal Bands.

Allow me to list some of my favorite Metal Bands:

    Adagio (Progressive Metal)
    Avec Tristesse (Progressive Death/Black Metal)
    Before the Dawn (Gothic Metal)
    Benighted (Brutal Death Metal)
    Dark Lunacy (Russian Death Metal)
Dark Tranquility (Melodic Death Metal - Gothenburg)
    Dream Theatre (Progressive)
    Eluveitie (Progressive Folk/Black)
    Katatonia (Depressive Metal)
    Machinae Supremacy (SID Metal)
    Mastodon (Sludge Metal)
    Mnemic (Fusion Metal)
Opeth (Progressive Death Metal) <- One of the most amazing bands ever.
    Tyr (Progressive Folk/Viking Metal)
    Within Temptation (Gothic Metal)
    Zozobra (Sludge/Stoner Metal)

And that's just a bit of my library, ironically though I also like alot of classical.... go figure.

Etta James has been to our town's little annual Blues Festival a couple of times. Last year we had Johhny Winter. My favorite to come was Kim Simmons a few years ago, formerly of Savoy Brown. I think the disagreement between Rock and Blues led to Savoy's breakup and the formation of Foghat with Lonesome Dave.

I prefer old school Rock n Roll and some Metal. My SO loves Metal so I'm learning to enjoy it more and more. I have pretty eclectic tastes in music though, everything from classical to punk rock...as long as it's a showcase of true musical talent, and not the over-produced tripe of some talentless pop tart or boy band.

I just pressed shuffle on my iPod just to see what would come up..
