Wasn't sure what to title it...but anyways does anyone have any wild or controversial or opinions that put you the minority?

For me...i'm a drug libertarian. Everything should be legalized. Not a drug user, but Government Enforcement of the existing Drug Laws harm society more than the drugs themselves not to mention the creation of the black market of over-inflated prices and violence.

I agree that drugs should be legalized and taxed at that.

I wouldn't say they are wild. But I'm personally and morally against abortion but believe that ever woman should have the choice.

I want to see them legalized for two reasons: kill the black market and hurt the cartels, and to help clean out the gene pool a bit. Let all the dumb fucks OD and die off, get rid of the addictive "personalities" or a large part of them. Cruel? I s'pose. Heartless? Maybe. Good for humanity in general? You fucking bet.

To clarify, I still have a healthy lack of regard for drugs like heroin and meth and such. Those drugs really are bad, and they all kinds of fuck you up. Psychedelics seem to be relatively harmless, though they can cause psychological problems in some instances, but so can weed, and that is about as harmless as you can get.

I believe in legalizing infanticide on that note, if Abortion is legal, so should infanticide...though gotta come up with a better name.....something more socially acceptable.

No, abortion and infanticide are two totally different things.
Aborting a FETUS is not the same as murdering a HUMAN BEING.

    That's legalizing murder.

I guess i should have put down facetious tags on that, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Doesn't shine through on forums. Not trying to be funny...just encourage thought.

But in all seriousness, really? Are they really all that different? Even the terminology there "aborting a fetus" sounds way better than "killing a fetus/embryo" Well the law thinks so but morally.....we might as well, but i'm not gonna be the one to rally the call for legalization for Infanticide or support such a notion beyond odd statements on a forum. Nor am I gonna trash anyone, cause what do i know lol. I don't have the esteem or confidence to trash anyone for what they believe.

I's a dark froggie sometimes. Don't mind me. I usually keep it in check on the forum.

I'm not sure I see the point of infanticide really. And yes, abortion is not legal after the point which the sex is known, so infanticide definitely would be murder.

I think you should probably explain your position better, because it may actually not be infanticide you're thinking of Kermit.

Yes, it's very different and it has nothing to do with morals.

Aborting a fetus that has no ability to live outside of the womb is COMPLETELY different then carrying a child full term, giving birth do it and within the first 24 to 48 hours of it's life saying "oh well, I don't want this" and murdering it.

    That is fucked up.

There is no position to explain. I was putting an absurd suggestion out there, that I in no way endorse. Only to provoke thought (though obviously i lack the tact for that) Infanticide is exactly the term i was thinking of. The killing of an infant, perhaps for hte same reasons as an abortion. It is interesting to me how it's a protected essential right when it is inside the womb to dispose of teh child, yet this crime against nature outside of the womb. But just food for thought. I think any further posting from me on this subject would be disruptive and it was a mistake to post what i did.

Yes, you can argue that it's silly how we put varying degrees on life or the taking of such, IE murder 1, murder 2, etc. vs. manslaughter, etc. One could argue simply that killing is killing regardless, but being humans and having the ability to reason, we realize things aren't nearly so black and white.

The vast majority of abortions in the US are done in the first term, before the fetus is considered viable. Some are done in the second term, but it rapidly drops off because that is when the fetus starts doing things like kicking and such. Hence the argument that a fetus isn't really a life until late second trimester and on. Infanticide clearly implies the ending of what is inarguably a life.

I will say that I have contemplated forms of eugenics. I mean, thanks to modern medicine and such, we've cheated survival of the fittest, and perhaps even ourselves. Now anyone can live. From simple issue like poor teeth and poor eyes to major genetic defects, we can fix it so you can get along in life. Really, such people should be dead from whatever mishaps life has. We're actively polluting the gene pool by keeping such people alive. IIRC they *do* sterilize or otherwise keep from reproducing some people. Generally it involves very major forms if genetically passable physical deformities, etc. Castration of males, etc. I do think it's better that they are unable to reproduce, it's simply not wise. But then you have to think, someone like myself, it doesn't matter how strong or smart I might be. My eyesight is shit. No idea if that's genetic or what, but you can't help but notice how many people need corrective lenses, etc. in the bad old days, I'd have died due to not seeing something most likely, thus removing any chance of me passing my bad eyes along. So this idea of eugenics, it's a double edged sword. It would retroactively affect me in that I'd either have died, or not even been born. I am still for it. That's why I'm for the legalization of all drugs for the reasons specified. Let's clean the gene pool up some, we've shit and pissed in it far too much, I think.

I'm for eugenics myself. some site had something about this kid who was allergic to food in general. Some people go "that poor kid!" n such, though I'm sometimes short on empathy, so all I can think of is "Why are the torturing the poor kid?" Think about it, constantly having to worry about so much as smelling food can kill you would probably drive you batshit crazy to be honest. You also forgot to mention letting people kill themselves off helps prevent overpopulation and food shortages.

Why isnt weed legal anyways? Its safer than cigs and alcohol, not only that but everybody abuses the medical law anyways... trust me... And the gov't could make a shit load of money from taxes off of it too, Id be fine with that as long as a gram is $25 or less. They'd make money like enough to be able to put a good sized dent in the trillions of dollars owed to China over time.

For me, I am a committed socialist. A form of politics which now seems almost unacceptable in most western democracies. I still believe in the basic tenets of Marx.

    [...........changing theme.............]

And, I am not sure about drug legalisation. Seen too much damage done and think the legalisation argument is to simple. But I take the point about the black market exploitation of drug provision. So, I don't know the answer.

Like Mittimer, I feel it is every woman's choice to decide on abortion. I do feel that it must be available for any woman who does choose to go down that path.

Abortion is a tough subject that I choose to stay out of, but MItts is right as always. It always seems to turn political and violent.

I guess I should mention that I think that ONLY marijuana should be legal. Anything else I consider to be a real drug. Shit like heroin and meth are the devils drugs and are sad that they exist and destroy so many lives.

That is retarded. Not ALL drugs should be legalized. Some drugs are deadly as heck. Look at Krokodil.

Ok, now to join Kermit in annoying everyone with a view.

I'm fed up with TV sponsored Charity days like, Red Nose Day, Sport Relief etc that force images of children dying in 3rd World Countries to try and force us to part with our hard earned. Children In Need isn't too bad as most the money stays in Britain.

Firstly, most of the problems are caused by the governments of those countries and most aid is stolen by them enroute. Secondly, even if all these hundreds of thousands of children are saved it would cause a massive popuation boom that the country couldn't sustain and therefrore lead to mass famine. Thirdly, amd most importantly, we've got far more important issues in our own country that need sorting out.

So my view is that these Countries should be forced to implement the same strict spouse rules as China and use forced contraception to keep population down, rather than saving lives they need to reduce births.

Legalization of drugs is a great start. In the U.S one gets more jail time for smoking a joint than they do for killing their wife. Honestly, if someone is not hurting anyone by doing the drug of their choice, why bother them. Tax money can be spent on other things that would better this country like fixing highways and schools.

I think Politicians are over paid. They need to be paid on a sliding scale, or perhaps have the PEOPLE decide how much they should get. What a concept!

But they can be hurting others, CB. Heroin has terrible consequences for some users and their friends and the trade serves to fund all sorts of other 'nasties'.

    My tuppence worth.

I guess that fact that I don't watch any TV at all makes me a minority these days. There are just nothing of interest at all nowdays, nothing. And even if there were it would be bogged down in so much commercials it would be unwatchable.
And why would I watch TV when I can get exactly what I want with no ads on the internet anyway?

My next point is that I don't see why we need to wear clothes all the time and cover ourselves up. I understand it if you would freeze without clothes and so on but if its a warm summer day and you don't need clothes, then why do you need to use em?
This whole "the naked body is bad" thing very strange to me. The human body is normal and beautiful.
At the same time though I'm quite the hypocrite because I too wear clothes. But I can assure you I'd go around a lot more naked if I weren't so damn shy about it. :p
