I am a Social Worker. Currently, I work with children with behavioral and emotional diagnoses...... who beat the hell out of me and call me a "fucking fat whore/bitch" all day long. Whee. Someday I hope to have a Masters or even PhD, doing therapy.

I guess we are the only workers here.
Now I understand the query about helping the handicapped,
I do take a van load of people with Downs syndrome to gym
in the fall winter and spring, And the only problem I have
is getting them all back together to go home absolutely no
physical or verbal abuse is tolerated by me.
Also I occasionally take a load of mentally depressed Young adults 16-25 yo
home for the weekend, That is generally a 350 mile trip as they all live in the
Holmes co Ohio area, I always talk to the care givers at the mental clinic
and make sure everyone has their meds and what time they need to take
them, I have done this app. 12 times, And so far I have never
    had a problem.
Why do they abuse you Mel.
Hope you luck in the degree.

I have been a stay-at-home mom for six years. My daughter has cerebral palsy (severe). Although I have been attending college going for accounting and health field. I am currently looking for a job also, as I am now a single mom.

I'm an English teacher at three local high schools here in Sweden. I am the school district's only English teacher who is a native speaker so they like to share me between schools.

Also, lately I've been supplementing my income with a little freelance writing work.

If their is one group of kids that my heart goes out too
it is the ones that have cerebral palsy.
I have talked to them a few times and find them very intelligent.
Also I find that most people shy away from them, like they
    are lepers or something.
And I really think the least one can do is at least say hi when passing them.
I do and it lights up their face.

And Green Eyes you seam to have your work cut out for you.

I stay home with our 3 and 5 year olds. There is nowhere I'd rather be; I'm a lucky woman to get to enjoy teaching them and observing them grow... Even if it means constantly stepping on Legos with my bare feet. :D

I am a weaver/seamstress. It rocks. I get to make stuff all day, which is what I also do in my free time.
Oh, and I'm also in college getting an English degree. I want to be a writer, someday. Professionally, that is.

I was in the office machines business for 20 years until I took early retirement; high volume B&W copiers (Canon, Kodak, and Oce) and color copiers (Canon CLCs). DOS based PCs and RISK processors for the color RIPs too. My degree, from DeVry Tech in Atlanta, is in electronics engineering technology.
    Now I'm a house husband.

I love airplanes, but that's a hell of a lot of responsibility. At least if my machines ever do crash, they're only a few feet off the ground. Keep up the good work, Martin.

    I appreciate that....:)
Yeah it is a shame that most people tend to ignore kids (and adults) with CP. I have noticed that a lot since having my daughter. She gets really excited when anyone comes up and talks to her, SMILES real big. :D

I work as a Customer Service manager in a bank. But it's so horrifically boring that I've applied to work in an art gallery. Bit of a change, I know, but I may as well enjoy my work :D
