I bought a new dildo vibrator yesterday and noticed a strong petroleum odor. Knowing all those horrible chemicals manuf. use to make rubber i used my toy cleaner several times on it and even let it set for a little. As we lay in bed talking after great, orgasmic sex using my other new toy, he began to tease me with this huge rubber cock, well it started burning like hell. So needles to say, we cleaned it and put it away to air out for a week or so. The brand is Doc Johnson??? have any of you come across toys with such strong presence of chemical ??? It was not very expensive, but not a cheapo, 50 dollar price range. i knew i should have bought the cool one from Evolved.
Speaking of Evolved, for the holidays they have a purse-size rhinestone-blinged vib in a nice gift case , beautiful red. Check it out for a stocking stuffer lol

Yes! Quite recently,in fact.It was HORRIBLE.It was one of those "jelly" toys and it smelled really odd.
Anyhow, same thing happened to me after using it.Burning, itching and even some slight swelling! I have concluded I'm allergic to latex/rubber or whatever was used in making the toy.
I have read cyberskin or glass toys are better and don't give this reaction

We can concur with both awakened and DarkJewel on this.
Some cheaper jelly silicone type toys do emit an irritant sweet chemical odour (acetone residue?).
We have found this in several butt plugs and one vibe and disposed of them pronto.
