Just wanted to post some thoughts. I went to see Van Halen in concert. The last time I went to a Van Halen concert, people would hold up lighters... What ever happenned to that? Now it's aparently replaced with people holding up cell phones to video record.

And the people.. Seems that the same people probably went that went 20 years ago, except now they're 20 years older and look it.

And there hasn't been much if anything I haven't liked that Van Halen has done. I have found that over the years I don't get tired of their songs. I can't say that about the new stuff, I mean I think to myself 'maybe it'll grow on me' but I've never had to say that before. But heck, if a new album I don't care for gets them touring again so I can hear the old stuff I like, I'm fine with that.

I've got you by almost 10 yrs....I was tired of the late 70s-80s in the late 80s. I think Van Halen started downhill with 5150. My taste has progressed through the years, mostly alternative and hard rock. Haven't been to a concert in a couple of years, last one was DrZhevegas. And of course the cell phone has replaced the lighter.

Yeah, if it isn't cellphones doing video/pics, it's that lame lighter app.

That said, I think Van Halen has staying power simply because they rock.
