    Hi all, quick question:

Ladies, when you finger yourself, or guys when you finger your loved ones, do you feel noticeable bumps or ridges, or is it mostly smooth?

What about during intercourse - can your penis feel noticeable bumps/ridges or mostly smooth?

Weird question I know but I need to know. Thanks :)

First off, pardon me, but I've had a few tonghit.
That aside, the female vagina can have a lot of "textural" variations. The very opening of my vagina is very smooth. Just after an inch or so there are a few "ridges". It's pretty normal for you to notice different folds of tissue.
I guess the only thing I'd worry about would be noticeable bumps. Like really obvious bumps. Go to your ob/gyn if you think you need a more thorough explanaition of your "textures". :)

yeah. I do notice like strings. That feels pretty strange. Is that really normal. It's like piece of skin attached to the vagina wall.

Sounds like the edge of your hymen. It may be perforated, fibrous (not a bad thing, trust me). Is there a reason you're asking now? Have you noticed some type of change in the way it feels?

(And Melicious, any time you want to inspect my smoothness, ridges, and textures, let me know. Alien requests the right to video tape it!):brow

pirouette, well i do know where my hymen is located. I know what it looks and feels like. What I noticed is located in my vagina and not at the entrance.

It's like the ridges you described I think. They is like a bump all the way down lon the vagina and they are sorta located on each site of this vagina wall. ( It's hard to describe) I'm kinda new to vaginal play so I can't really tell you for how long they've been here. I just noticed them like few months ago.

MY guess is that you're feeling those delicious muscles. But, if you are concerned, you might see a doctor. *You are doing that annually anyway, right? Please!

Actually I am not already doing that anyway. They advise here 21 years old or when you start to become sexually active. So I'll be waiting a bit I think. And I'm sorta scared of going to.

But you really think this sounds like muscles ?

Yes, it sounds like muscles. But you really should be seeing a gynocologist annually. :)

Does the speculum hurt though ? Cause I have to tell you I am a bit anxious about going.

I do think it sounds like muscles. But...... you need not be scared of visiting a doctor. They are professionals, sweetie. We all have to do it, it's very very important. And ask about that vaccine that helps prevent cervical cancer.

Speculums don't hurt me. But I do prefer the plastic over the cold metal variety. Don't worry about it. Just try to relax and remember that every woman goes through this.

What I'd really like to know is whether they are significant enough to be noticeable by the penis during intercourse, or does it all just feel smooth. I'm assuming that you ladies can feel them with your fingers, but the fingers are a lot more sensitive to textures than the penis. Any guys ever felt these ridges and bumps, or is it mostly a smooth surface as far as your penis can tell? Thanks.

IF they try one spec and it causes discomfort, SAY SO. I urge you. They have smaller ones, and should use them if you wish. I have to use the pediatric (that's sick, I know) speculums. Just be honest with the doc. Really.

Rocky, if she feels like ridged condom, I think she might just want to see a doc. I think what you feel is probably her USING those muscles...... which will feel smooth, but ridged. Make sense?

I do not feel anything different with just plan intercourse.
But when it comes to the finger, Oh hell yes . Going over where Her hymen used to be. A little tight. Then on to the "G" spot, Then you bottom out, The tubes start. So if you want to feel it you will have to use the finger,
Or if your like me you have to use your tongue. I like to taste it.

If the doctor is using a metal speculum, then ask him or her warm it in warm water before insertion. Many do that without being asked. And no, the speculum shouldn't hurt. They lube it before hand with tons of KY Jelly.
