Just saw this article, which you can look at here about how Greenpeace "urges kangaroo consumption" because it's better for the environment. What do you think? Have you ever or would you ever eat a kangaroo? Seems like it would be like eating a really large rat.

I have cooked and eaten Kangaroo many times Puss. It isn't bad if cooked right.

First, you must choose a good quality piece, I like rump.

Coat in seasoning of choice, I like a mixture of fresh thyme and rosemary finely chopped, mixed with cracked black pepper.

Then you have to make sure that it doesn't cook for long, I wouldn't go past medium-rare. Otherwise the meat toughens up and becomes chewy (almost as bad as camel)

Slice thinly and lightly coat with favorite sauce, I like a creamy green peppercorn sauce with the peppercorns flamed in brandy. :drool

You have made me hungry Puss.

I've never been to Oz, but I've eaten kangaroo and it's not bad at all, they breed and sell ostrich meat round my way, but it's hellish expensive and not worth the money IMO.

I'd try it for sure. I like most things if prepared properly.

I've had kangaroo a couple of times, and it is quite okay if not overcooked. Kangaroos are in plague proportion at the moment, and culling is necessary to stop them starving to death.

Interesting, indeed. Cook's recipe made me hungry as well. How do you think kangaroo works as a substitute for beef?

Different flavor. But if you like gamy meat it's OK. I prefer beef.
