So...I just got a ticket for not wearing a reflector belt after dusk.
What is the most ridiculous reason you've heard of for someone getting a ticket?

I thought that they could only give us warnings for not wearing them
I got a ticket for an air freshener hanging from my rear-view, she said it was obstructing my view.

For me it was probably, reckless driving in a parking lot. I had an old hot rod Nova with a spool. Long story short, it causes both tires to turn at the same rate and when I was turning around a gas pump it caused the tires to chirp. Local cop decided I was spinning wheels going two miles per hour. Luckily, it was thrown out

I was pulled over for honking at another vehicle. I told the officer I honked to get the chick in front of me that was texting to put the pedal to the medal because the light had turned green. He could tell I was irritated at the other driver and told me he could issue a citation for road rage. He then mentioned the sticker on the back of my car stating " I am not tailgating, I am drafting" To this day I dont know why I did not get a ticket, lol

I think getting a fine for smoking *** is pretty ridiculous, but I've never gotten one.

The dumbest ticket I ever got was parking against traffic in my own driveway. Went to the courthouse, had them get rid of it that day, then went to the police station and yelled at the cop for trespassing and wasting my time. :D I think they could have arrested me for verbally assaulting him, but they didn't.

It's a belt that little shiny thing that makes you more visible in car headlights, I wear one sometimes if I'm running in the dark. It's not illegal not to wear one here, probably not in Alaska either, but it's near the end of the month and I assume the cop was low on his quota.

Military bases require them, or at least I know Fort Bragg does

The military is not allowed to impose rules on civilians, a judge will say the ticket is invalid in that case. :)

Unless you were literally on the base, show the judge that that rule is no where in the town laws. The military morons always think they are above the law and can make their own rules, but they can't.

I think our new Alaskans are all in the military. They don't seem to be morons.

The military owns it's personel, what they say goes.
Elmendorf requires reflector belts too, it's very lame.

I had a friend in jersey get a ticket for "running" a yield sign. We wefe both under the impression that if nobody was coming the other way you got to keep going after you looked. If theres not somebody to whom you must yield, you continue driving right? Wrong. Apparently.

well here in california you have to slow down and almost stop to "observe" traffic flow then go if no one is coming, but no one ever stops unless they have to wait for the right of way...

I have only driven in Cali once and that was right after I got my license and my mom decided it would be a good learning experience for me to drive the grapevine, that was the scariest thing ever.
