I got a call Wednesday from one of my posse asking if I wanted to ride the next day. I said, "SURE!" I was on the road by 8:30 the next morning. I picked up a friend and her horse and we trucked over to a park that we'd never ridden at before. There were 4 of us riding.

As we didn't have a map and had no clue where we were going, we ended up bushwacking and trail blazing quite a bit.

After 6 hours, we loaded up and went home. It was a fantastic day full of much laughter, good riding and beautiful scenery.

Very nice, enjoy all forms of natural beauty.

    I wouldn’t last 6hrs, unless it’s all walking speed.

“Ridden hard” could mean the rider as far as I am concerned.

Ah, yes, "rode hard and put away wet". Most people know that saying, but true horse people say, "rode hard, put away wet and tied up". If a horse is ridden hard when he's out of shape, he can "tie up" which is a painful condition due to excessive lactate bulding up in the muscles, causing them to seize up and remain in a contracted state.

There ya have it, a bit of useless horse trivia. ;)

No trivia regarding animals is trivial, hun. They treat us better than most humans, from my experience anyway. Glad you are enjoying your babies again!

I loved all the scenery pictures, especially the "wild apples" one. Thanks for sharing!

They did great! I only had to hang on to them when we were at a flatout gallop, :tup
But, Cookie baby, it wasn't my horse that befouled the water, it was my friend's. The fish loved the addition to the food supply, btw. :lol

Thanks, Puss. Those apples were tart as heck, but the horses loved them.
