A thread devoted to the best Canadian export since Molson, Tim Horton’s, Geddy Lee, affordable prescription drugs and @PerfectPussy.

After years of boldly exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life and new civilizations, and banging chicks all across the galaxy, he really did a good job re-inventing himself, first with serious roles on the TJ Hooker and Rescue 911 series.

When I first saw this “drunken, washed-up lounge singer” act he did, I thought he was absolutely finished in show business. But he just owned it! He followed up by doing some covers of modern songs like Pulp’s “Common People” and Eminem’s “Slim Shady,’ eventually parlaying it into the quirky-grandpa persona that is now the pitch man for Priceline. People should be clamoring for the clip below to be the new Canadian National Anthem, lol.

So go ahead and post your favorite Shatner or Star Trek memories.

Oh - I have so many. Must find his version of 'common people' to post. And then I'll start on Denny Crane.

"Did you say Klingons". Loved the character of Denny Crane. Especially loved the Star Trek references

Hearing this the other day was the inspiration for this thread.

I plea guilty to not liking deep space nine. After a couple of half episodes, I gave up on it.

Deep Space Nine takes more than an episode or two to get into - and even then it's not for everyone. It requires more commitment and is more involved than the other series. It isn't as strictly episodic, each episode is not necessarily self-contained. However, I feel that the show was stronger overall (writing, acting, &c). I don't dispute it's less in the tradition of the original Star Trek or Star Trek: The Next Generation; it is more of a political drama set in a science-fiction Star Trek universe than a "true" Trek series.
