Anybody else notice the recent stint of dead threads (a.k.a. obsolete threads; zombie threads; Lazarus threads; "check the fucking post dates on comments!" threads) coming back to life? (This is especially prevalent in the Pic/Video section...)

At first, admittedly, it bugged the shit out of me. (It was even worse when I used to inadvertently post to a dead thread myself!) For a time I'd be sure to point out to the reviver of a dead post that "User1234 had not been seen since Way The Fuck Forever Ago" or that the "last comment was made on Seriously This Is A Pre-Cambrian Date. WTF?"

Now, however, (with the help of a few others) it's all turned into an amusing pastime for me here on SF:

    • Wait until a long dead thread revives with a new comment.
    • Someone points out that it's no longer relevant to comment on for any number of reasons.
    • Sarcastic hijinks ensue.
No, don't worry - I'm not planning on going all Indiana Jones and breaking open the Forum's tombs to pull ancient posts back into the light of day. (I'd be the unlucky bastard that inadvertently opens SF equivalent to the Ark of the Covenant and doesn't look away.) I'm just curious if I'm the only one as equal parts amused and bemused by this increasing occurrence.

If there was ever a good case for creating an Archive of sorts...
    Or not...
Shit, this all gives me something to do 'round here other than try to come up with witty retorts to relevant threads that people actively care about.

Thoughts? (Other than "Shut the fuck up, 10_3XL!")

This is a fucking awesome post!
Indians Jones aka 10_3xl opens the tomb of the Egyptian Princess Ravage Meee (SF archive) and to his horror discovers that women in ancient times proudly wore public hairs around their genitals

I'll have you know that I'm familiar with the concept. Actually it's my preference for her to have "hair down there." :p

That's a shame - seeing as you know how incredibly unlikely it is that I'll ever shut up. (Even when it'd probably be in my best interests.)

I'm always talking sense. Unfortunately it's usually of the "non-" variety of sense.

I didn't say there were no others, just that I couldn't think of them :(

Lets just leave it at that - and a bloody good job you are at times or the place, besides some threads, would be dead.

You're not the first who has mentioned to me that I keep things lively with my often incessant chatter...
I'm simply glad to have a place (that isn't Twitbook or Friendface or whatever the hell else they're calling social media sites these days) that I can rattle off 18+ posts in under an hour and not have people shouting me down for "post-spamming" the site.

I haven't even read them. I usually open them in a new tab and close them without looking.

That would be nice and fun. I miss some of the old members and wonder how they are.

It's getting better day by day.

I've always wondered how Kermit is doing and Barbwire.

Here's my 2 cents, I think we all have a little of the I'll shut the fuck up now, we've all had our toes stepped on for saying something here. A lot of us miss the veterans we had here, wishing some of them would come back and bring some life back into this forum. I k I've rambled long enough, not even sure if it makes any sense
