My girlfriend is going on the pill soon and I was just wondering what the chances were of her getting pregnant if we had unprotected sex while she's on it?

I get paranoid about it not being effective as if she ended up pregnant it'd be awful.

There's really nothing safer, but nothing is 100%.

Nothing is 100% I was on the Deprovero shot and it worked the entire time I was on it. When I went to the pills i got PG with my son. I recomend the shot. With the pill using a condom would be safer.

I believe the pill is 99.9% effective. It has to be used right. She can't miss one. Responsibility is the key with all birth control and std prevention.

The pill is generally considered the most effective form of birth control there is. It's much more effective than condoms, which have a 15% failure rate with normal use. But like Melicious said, you have to be diligent.

This website has a handy chart which lists all forms of birth control and their varying degrees of efficacy. I'd argue that if the pill is used correctly it is quite safe to do away with condoms, which have a horrendously high failure rate anyway. This is assuming that the two of you are free from STDs and are committed to each other.

The pill is a good choice. Personally I think the pill can kill the sex drive over time though :(

Just wrap your tool and pop the pill. It's the best combo out there.
