So it is my pleasure to announce to you the greatest tour lineup EVER will be touring North America this coming spring/summer.

Buckle up kids, this isn't any emo band group suicide, or Black Metal church burning ... this is the Progressive Nation 2008 tour.

This tour is headlined by Progressive rock/metal titans Dream Theater and is supported by the kings of Progressive Death Metal, Opeth, the Progressive Rock group Three, and the monsters of Progressive Metalcore: Between the Buried and Me.

Anyone who knows metal knows Dream Theater. I've included the band websites, feel free to check them out. You all have no idea how stoked I am about this. I love Dream Theater, enjoy Three, and find Between the Buried and Me a good, but acquired, taste and considering Opeth is my favorite band... I'll most certainly be at a show! You have no idea how excited I am about this...

*waits for tour dates and tickets*

    Links to the Band Websites:

    Three
    Between the Buried and Me
    Opeth
    Dream Theater

Prepare to get rocketed into another musical universe...

I'd love to see Dream Theater *sighs*. Too bad getting married makes one poorer than they already are.

Oh my God ... Enough mainstream music! Geez.

All four members of Dream Theater are classically trained virtuosos in their field. John Petrucci, the guitarist has been asked to play with Satriani and Steve Vai on their G3 tour several years in a row. The guy is a god of guitar.

    Dream Theater:
    Dark Eternal Night
    Pull Me Under

Here is a demonstration of Petrucci's skill. Those of you that know the band Metallica and have heard them know they have two guitarists. Here is a Dream Theater cover of their song Master of Puppets. Petrucci is playing BOTH guitar parts at once! I think this was done on a home camera so the sound on the vocals isn't so good. :(
    Master of Puppets

I'm more of a Bluegrass type person, myself.

Tell me about it, A1. I've had bluegrass shoved down my throat since I was little, being a Kentucky gal and all. I broke free! :) But IMO, bluegrass is a billion times better than pop or rap.

    Age...

...has nothing to do with it. (Just ask Dreama!) The folks in DT are about our age. You just happen to be a music nerd and spend all your time fucking cowboys and listening to Willy Nelson instead of...more progressive music. :lol

Sorry A1, you're forgetting another legendary tour: The Spice Girls.

(and I'm going to see them in Chicago in february!)

A1 melts down and spontaneously combusts. :phat We'll have to wait till he rummages through his junk and finds another keyboard and mouse.

I pity you... are you not aware that the Dept. of Defense uses their music to torture detainees at Guantanamo?!

Yes there is a reunion tour ... God help us all...

Oh no fear of that ... I just know that my favorite bands are musically more talented, do a better show, and don't have to shake their ass to interest their fans... :lol

I just love the female voice... Baez, Holiday, Joplin, Springfield, Turner, Franklin etc. I just can't see the Spice Girls as real artists though.

Oh see there's a fundamental difference then ... if I'm going to pay money for a concert I plan on seeing an artist whose music I actually like.

To each their own ... about the only I'd go to spice girls concert is to launch overly-ripe grapefruits at the stage with a water balloon slingshot....
