    Today is Championship Sunday!

San Diego Chargers at New England Patriots - 3:00 PM EST

New York Giants at Green Bay Packers - 6:30 PM EST

The run to Super Bowl XLII ends tonight. Nothing left to play for but a trophy two weeks from today.

Who do you want or think will win the games today?

Chargers at Patriots - I like the Chargers because of QB Phillip Rivers. Partially torn ACL last week and he wants to start today. They have other doubtful players also as they didn't get the bi-week off two weeks like the Pats did. I also like 1st year Charger coach, Norv Turner. New England is the only team I like to pull against because they are undefeated after 17 games this year. I still would bet on NE to win, I just like to go with the underdog sometimes. Also Patriot QB, Tom Brady, is so hot I’m jealous as hell and I hate him.

Giants at Packers - 14 degrees below zero at 8:30 this morning, but it will warm up to near zero by game time. :lol I like the Pack because of history and because of the old man Brett Favre (QB). I like the Giants because of Eli Manning, little brother of Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts. Eli has matured a bunch this year, especially the second half of the season. And the Giants have come out on top in their last 9 away games. I actually think the underdogs will win this home game at Green Bay today.

Super Bowl XLII in Arizona, Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008
    I say:
New England Patriots & New York Giants

Let's all hope the Packers win today. I'm not a fan, but I'm not going to hear the end of it if they lose. :eyes

    Pats will crush the Chargers.

Manning won't be able to handle the cold like the packers can. Packers win.

I'll take Pats over Packers in the Superbowl ... say ... 24-17

Well it ain't a crush yet but the Pats are aheed by 2 TD's, with the ball and late in the 4th. Looks like the NE Pats will play the NYG or GB-packers in SB 42. I wanted the Chargers but kinda knew the Patriots would prevail.

    Pretty good prediction, Thorn!

For the Superbowl, though I'd like to see the Giants come away with the Title, if I had to put money on it, I'd have to go with the Patriots.

Wow, Brett Favre should be hanging his head low today. He handed them that game.

    The Giants...

...match up better with the Pats than anyone else in the NFC. They can run the ball and have two solid backs and a pretty good line; New England struggled against everyone who hit them in the face with the run; The Ravens, the Colts, the Eagles to some extent and, of course, the Giants last game of the regular season.

The Giants have the best pass rush in the league which goes without saying as a huge plus against a team that pretty much lives and dies with the pass. They also have pretty good lb's and db's. All in all, one of the better defenses in the NFL.

Eli has, obviously, come into his own winning three straight playoff games and playing well in each.

New England is the favorite and should be. If I had to play them and I couldn't have the Colts or a healthy Chargers my next pick would be the Giants. If they play for touchdowns and get a few breaks, they have a shot.

I'm happy that the Giants are playing the Pats because they have the best chance of beating them. But wouldn't the folk-narrative of Brett the bearish lovable everyman vs. the corporate machine with its evil coach and cool-as-punch Hollywood QB have been wonderful? Harder to get excited about the Giants in general - Strahan is such an idiot.

If I was a betting individual I might take the Giants. They are at least as good as the Pat's the last few games. The pressure is on New England with that word "undefeated" being thrown around so much by fans and sports writers.

And Hiker! I told you not to call me "Sweetheart" in the puplic forums anymore.;)

Haha, well I lied, I've never been to New Jersey, I can't remember why I said that in December of 2006, but I'm from Chicago by way of Texas, a Cowboys fan who hates the Giants with a passion normally reserved for the bedroom.

I frequently pull for an underdog(except for SEC ball). I was an Archie Manning fan for years, so I always pull for the boys ...but, I like to watch perfection in action. The Pats have seemed less than perfect lately though, but I'm torn. I can't watch with indifference, so I'd better figure it out soon.

My wife took Monday off because of the Superbowl, so I guess we're gonna do some serious football on Sunday.

Just for your information Beornmod, admitting that you are a Cowboy fan is also an infraction on :sf that can result in a member being banned. ::rofl ;) Go Skins! :lol
