Saturday Night Live .......Just wondered what you folks think about the show....I watched it as a youngster in the 70's, fell in love with it again in the 90's....and now my 13 year old son is a huge fan......my sweet sweet sluttyfairy however, just doesn't think it's funny:ugh.....
Do ya like it? What cast was the best, or do you have a favorite cast member/ character, or host? Or do ya just not think its funny?

For me, Dana Carvey and phil Hartman were great...loved belushi and akroyd as the blues brothers too!....and belushi impersonating joe cocker?....priceless...

Watched it back in the 70s, after the original cast left...or died, lost interest, occasionally watch a show if nothing else is on, it's rarely funny anymore.

I watch SNL and own almost every best of DVD of individual performers. I've been lucky to go see it live 6 times so far :) The current cast is alright although they lost of good comedians from last season. My favorite era is the 90's from Sandler, Carvey, etc to Ferrell, Shannon, etc. Would love to see Ferrell come back and guest host..."I drive a Dodge Stratus!" :lol

I have that and it's a good one. I think my favorite is the Christopher Walken one. Hands down he was the best guest host IMO.

The Chase, Belushi, Murry group was the best. Then they went all corporate and had writers work in offices instead of smokey back rooms. Same thing happened to National Lampoons, they got rid of the marijuana and they went downhill.

I like SNL, but it definitely has gone downhill over the years. I'm an 80's baby, and I'm not too familiar with the 70's SNL cast. I liked Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, Finesse Mitchell. Kristen Wig was a great cast member in my opinion. I was sad to see her go.

They all had their moments i think. Across the board, i would have to say the original group, but the 90s into the early 2000s rivals it. I cant really settle on a whole cast though. More individual members for me. He wasnt an original member, but eddie murphy may have been the flat out craziest of the old school guys. Buckwheat sings? Priceless hahaha

I think phil hartman gets forgotten too easily. Sometimes for me the plain dumbest sketches stick out the most in my mind. Like the caveman lawyer lol "but i'm just a caaaaveman." haha

I miss Fridays. Similar show back in the 80s, but it was hilarious.

MAD TV was a hit or miss each week when I watched it for a while. The guy who played Stewart and the Asian guy where the funniest guys on the show who carried it in my opinion. I know one of the actors now does multiple voices for the show Futurerama
