i've heard girls like guys that are taller than them, but is there such thing as too tall of a guy?

theres a girl in class that i liked, so now that exams are done i asked her out. first date was cool but she seemed a bit uneasy whenever we were walking around. i remember all through the semester she would comment on how intimidating i was walking toward her, or menacing standing next to her. she called me a giant on our first date, lol. for a reference point, she's 5'1 and i'm 6'5.

That is a big disparity in height, but I like tall men, short men, average men. Most I have dated are taller than me, with the tallest being 6'4.

  3. People like different qualities because of the feelings associated with those qualities. Women who like taller men or bigger men do so because deep down on a primitive level, it makes them feel safe. For thousands of years of our brain development, physical size was an important attribute to survival and thus women would be drawn to a man who was more likely to be able to protect her and give her offspring that would be more desirable. Nowadays, I'd much rather be protected by a 5'1 sharpshooter than a 6'5 bodybuilder, but we're programmed deep down to think differently. The evolution of rational thought and problem solving allowed the shorter guy to develop tools to make up for his "lack" of height, altering the mind's perception of what is good protection.

The successful guys were not necessarily the ones who could make their women the safest, but those who could give them the best "feeling" of being safe. I've dated women much shorter than me and also women taller than me...as long as they get that vibe that they are "safe" with me, height has never been a factor. Each woman's idea of what is safe depends on her upbringing and I'm sure there are women who need a man much taller than them to feel fulfilled, while others feel intimidated as you said...it's all a matter of how they feel.

On a lighter note, can she suck you off while you're both standing up?

As long as you don't stoop! So many tall men stoop which looks awful. It's like they are constantly apologizing for their height. I much prefer a man to stand tall; it's really sexy!

I am 5' 2" and my husband is 6' 4" and we fit together perfectly ;)

    I'm less than 5 ft, i know ...
I'm 4'10" and NO i'm not growing anymore, i'm taller than my mother!
Bf is about 6ft. I find it terribly terrible awkward and i hate hate hate hate HATE it.
But i love him....so i'll keep him! I just feel constantly belittled...pardon the pun. I feel like taller people are more dominant...and i feel really like crap standing next to tall people. We don't really fit well. You can't wrap your arms around tall people without it fitting all wrong. imo.
He thinks i fit perfectly when we hug because he can rest his chin on my head. Which makes me feel short. Which makes me feel like crap. I don't tell him this though. He knows that i feel bad about being short and him being so tall reminds me.

I guess for some women, it doesn't matter. But if they really care they won't mind so much. I don't criticize him for being tall, because 6ft is fairly common for men. It's me who feels like a freak. Under 5ft tall is well below average on a bell shaped curve. :(

When he bends his knees to fit to me to kiss me, i yell at him and push him up. It actually offends me more if he reaches down to me than if i stand on my tippy toes. Dancing with him with the tallest stelletos even makes me feel too short.

I'm just giving you some warnings here. Incase you aren't that into her, so you don't break your heart. But i don't think there's so much of a difference as me and bf.

I've never dated a man shorter than 6ft anyway, oh, one guy for 9 days. That was quite alright. But after that all i know is having to pull on a mans collar to get him to my level for a kiss.

Sitting down is awesome. It evens out the height difference considerably.

so yes, there is such a thing as a "too tall" guy. I think once there is more than a head lengths difference, it's too much of a difference. But i've seen couples like that and it's almost always because it's the womans fault for being too short, so don't feel bad! It's her fault :p

    I don't slouch, love being tall :)

aww, don't feel bad for your height. It's not like something you can control.

Yea, its been a few weeks and we've slowly noticed more things that are difficult. She has to tip toe or me bend down to kiss, or I pick her up. It's been tough but we're working through it. We're happy so far :)

This is coming from a guy that is 6' 5"....size...as in most things DOES NOT MATTER! I have dated women that range from 5' 1" to 5' 11". Dreamer...my wife (who introduced herself earlier today) is 5' 6". And we have a ball...literally and figuratively! I have made allowances for all of them without making them feel short. I had a hard enough time growing up. I was 6' 4" when I was 14. I can guarantee that you making them feel 10' tall will get you a long ways!

And Ms Escort Bunny...you are so right! We all meet in the middle!

ok...I'm actually 5ft 5in tall to Blues 6ft 5in. I like the height difference. I'm lucky if the top of my head brushes his arm pit. He has never called me shorty or anything like that.
I have dated and even been married to men the same height or shorter than me and found it to be not my thing...I like tall slender men. Some women do feel a bit overshadowed by a very tall man. I think it's a preference as important to fulfill as the size and shape of a penis.

I'm 6'3" so I've never really had a problem with being over shadowed or anything
but my brothers are all over 6'7" and they like wicked short girls
they say the height difference is fun because it's like a game or something to work
    out the kinks

I am having a hard time finding a man who is taller than me or about the same height. I am 5 ft 11 with heels on 6ft.

haha the good thing about being tall is having really nice legs
I sometimes wear 1 inch heels but it really depends if I'm hanging out with taller people
