Think of society as a whole. Almost as if you're something else, speculating the human race. We as humans naturally find things that are unexplainable in a logical sense are fascinating/scary/weird. For example, racism, rape, drug addiction, etc. my main point is sexuality. why, as human beings are we driven to animalistic or mammalistic behavior, like comparing the thought "i'm human and i feel the intense urge to masturbate/i'm an elephant and i feel the urge to reproduce".

how would you compare human mentality with instinctive behavior/urges?

I think we are inbred with these desires. I've often said that, if you really think about it, who in their right mind would want to stick their wangy dangy in someone's peepee, if it were not for the unexplained subconscious knowledge that it's going to feel incredibly good.

The scenario, without the expectation of intense gratification is sickening within the realm of the simple human thought process. imho :)

It is always interesting to observe kids going over this territory I passed through however many years ago and to do it with the advantage of those years.

Racism, rape and drug addiction are not unexplainable or illogical; they are 100% normal, base animal behaviors.

Racism is how species survive. Lambs don't lay with lions no matter how hard Disney tries to tell us otherwise. In humans, it's not even about color, it's about tribe. People segregated by tribe throughout our existence. You can be as black as coal but step into the wrong tribe of people who, to an observer seem exactly the same, and your are a threat. In nature it's often about herd, pack, etc. So, racism isn't the best word, but it's the one we use to convey the message. After all, we're the human race.

Rape happens in nature all the time. Ask a female dolphin how her Saturday night went. It's simply the use of power.

Drug addiction would wipe animals out if they had unfettered access to whatever, booze, crack, heroine.

And that leads us back to do, do, do...

What separates us from animals is our ability to control ourselves. We learn that we are the human race and can do just fine with one another. Most of us do in any event.

We stop ourselves from raping, for the most part.

We control our drug intake, again, for the most part.

We gather food, build shelter, we look after family; happens in nature all the time. We just happen to build grocery stores, refrigerators, air conditioned and heated homes and play golf, make guns and guitars.

So, if I understand your question, we're driven to it. We just happen to be able to control it, desires and urges, and manipulate them. Humanize them. Yet we can still be animals, rape, murder.

    How's that?

I agree - it's inbred in us (at least most of us). Intimate human contact is just plain instinctve.

We humans are driven to animalistic/mammalistic behavior because we are animals/mammals. Has that never occurred to you before? We reproduce because we are biologically compelled to do so, and we masturbate because simply because it feels good. There's nothing more to it than that. Many other creatures on this planet masturbate as well and for the same reasons that we humans do.

Actually, I got up at 4 am that day, so I did show quite a bit of restraint. I made it to almost 6 am before I posted. :phat
