I was wondering for those who have had spinal surgery of any kind if you noticed a difference before and after.

A while back I posted a thread on masturbation and how I fingered myself for the first time and that I didn't get any pleasure from it. What I hadn't mentioned back then was that I had surgery done on my spine a year previous (2yrs now) due to scoliosis. At the time it didn't occur to me that my spinal surgery could have had an adverse affect on my sexual pleasure

I finally bought a dildo and a small vibrator that could be mistaken for
lipstick about 6-8 months ago and still nothing.

The dildo is simplistic nothing special and roughly 6" in length. I've used it
four times, fast, slow and from different angles but still nothing, well atleast
nothing that amounts to any pleasure. All I feel is pressure. It's not a bad
feeling but it's not a good feeling either.

At this point all I can think is that it's a result of spinal surgery. I've pretty much stuck to clitoral stimulation since I was fourteen so can't compare my fingers or the dildo pre and post op. Clit stimulation feels the same but like I said I've been doing that for years and I wanted to try something new.

I just went to the obgyn for the 1st time last week. It was quiet an uncomfortable experience. Getting a pap smear really hurt and I definitely don't feel comfortable talking to my obgyn about masturbation when I've only had 1 appointment. Well atleast not yet.

I'm still hoping that its not much of anything to worry about and that it will be different when I actually have sex.

    You bet it does!
Anything that messes with nerves serving the genitals will affect your sexual enjoyment.
I have had three spinal ops and yes it has affected my sexual responses variably but not nearly as bad as the analgesics I was taking at the time.
I was on Tramadol Rx and although sexually aroused could not for the life of me actually orgasm even after an hour of full on bonking.
Not great for me but the other party had a ball; it is funny now looking back but eventually was squirting blood ;)

I'm a guy (and you labeled this Ask A Girl) but still here are my thoughts:
You shouldn't feel hesitant to talk to your OB/Gyn about this. He/she is a medical professional and a specialist in women's reproductive system and health. I guarantee you they have probably heard it all (and way more embarrassing/worse than your masturbation habits). If the situation is as bad as it seems to be (to me) then you should definitely discuss the problem with your OB/Gyn..

Good Lord! How could that EVER be found amusing?!:eek:o_O

looking back dude, even to me it seems very fucking humorous; squirting in desperation even blood is a winner!
