I am sure there are some on here who will like this. My brother has spend five years rebuilding this beauty....oh the sound of that engine! Enjoy! 2nd Test Drive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSlyDOkSvSk
Wow....even from a blue-blooded Ford nut like me.....thats a beauty Love the paint too....a real credit to him:tup
Thank you darling! We grew up as Chevy enthusiasts! I want to drive that bitch, but $12k later I am only going for a ride. I am so proud of him!! Doesn't that engine sound sweet! He will 1/4 mile it! I know he will! P.S. I drive a Ford now, a blue one!
Bro removed it. He sent me a better one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSlyDOkSvSk Would you please remove that non-working link for me??
Link updated. Wow. I'm only 11 seconds into the video. First it's the great Eagles song, and then the sound of that idle. *drool* That's one hell of a cam he's got in her! Oooh, the in-car footage is even better!!!! Fucking wow!
Ok, I visited my parents this weekend for Mom's birthday, I got to ride in this baby! We only got it up to 90 because they live in the mountains and the roads are so curvy! I cannot wait for summer when he comes to visit me and we go the 1/4 mile over the lake! Sweet car! Only smile I have had in about a month!
I know, right? the springs arent right and they bottom out on the mountain roads, plus bro is 41, not 17, and he knows that the power will send us right off the mountain! But that engine, DAYUM! He wont let me drive!!! Like I said, he has summer tires. Wait til we do the 1/4 mile in Raleigh next summer. 110+ God I love power!!!!!
Wow, I missed this thread. A 482ci! That should put my old iron-block 396 to shame.:cry Tell him we wanna see his dyno sheets. When you get him to the drag strip, we'll want to take a look at those slips too. :cool I usually run at Fayetteville, at the Fayetteville-Elizabethton exit on I95. Love that burnt rubber air freshener.
Raw power is appealing, no doubt...but I personally would take finesse any day of the week. Put me on a short straight road with a car like this and the driver would leave me standing if he knows how to push a gas pedal (doesn't take much skill to stomp on a pedal, does it?). However, put me on a curvy road against a car like this and the driver would lose lose sight of me quickly. And it's not because of the turbo four-banger I have right now either...put me in a cheap-ass automatic Ford Escort wagon on a curvy road, and he'll still lose sight of me quickly. Just like dick size or pussy tightness, it's not what you have, but knowing how to use what you have. The magic is in the magician, not in the wand. BD
Why has the needle on my bullshit meter just jumped off the scale??? Have you ever drag-raced competitively (on a proper strip) and done any good? Don't make the mistake of underestimating how easy it is to be successful BD..... I've seen plenty of people roll their cars and belt concrete walls after losing control on the strip.....if it was as "easy" as you say...everyone would be doing it.:eyes There's a whole lot more to it than just "pushing a gas pedal"....:uhh: A "cheap-ass automatic Ford Escort wagon eh'..... on a windy road no less....:nerv I'd like to see that...:brow
:lol Actually, not referring to pro or semi-pro drivers at all HW...just all the big-block driving street rats who *think* they can drive it like a dragster without wrapping it around a tree. We see that a lot here. I just hope Mother Nature uses it to effectively thin the herd. (I definitely realize that actually driving a dragster takes a considerable amount of skill, so no slight intended to you or anyone else who actually does know how to operate a vehicle at high speeds or other challenging situations. The owner of the car pictured above is also responsible enough to keep it under control...he's got too much cash invested in it to wreck it. ) BD
