I thought I'd try my hand at a little abstract painting. I know that abstract painting doesn't appeal to many people usually because it doesn't "look" like anything recognizable. There's not much to the technique except to add color to the canvas or paper at random until it "feels" done. Even though I didn't intend for these paintings to mean anything, when they were finished I saw things in them anyway.

A study in black and red, aka Black Lightening

A study in black and blue, aka Blue Marble

A study in violet, yellow, and green aka Spring

One of the reasons why I like watercolor so much is it's so random; it can and often does end up looking like something totally unexpected.

I'd be honored, of course! And thank you!

BlueGreen is my favorite of the group as well, and my second fave is probably Black Lightening.

They remind me of looking into a cloudy fishtank with the long skinny plants floating up. My fave is the first one. Nice work PiB.

Thanks hoochie-boochie! The cool thing about abstract is that it reminds different people of different things. Where I saw lightening, you saw a fishtank. :tup
