I was just wondering, have any of you girls out there ever swapped sex for $? In other words, has anyone on this forum ever been a sex worker? Or even known a sex worker for that matter?

I have had sex with sex workers, and later in life I did some freelance website development work for a sex worker I got to know, and later I set up a website for a girl she knew as well. Guys who have only been clients and who have not known the girls in their personal space are only dealing with the persona. So JuicyB, what do you want to know?

The girls are in the sex industry for the money, with very few exceptions who are into sex work for the sex (there are a few). The girls who plan to stay in the industry put a decent amount of effort into satisfying their clients, because regular clients are financially lucrative, especially if the girls are self-employed as in-call / out-call escorts. The girls (naturally) prefer a client who is decent to one who isn't, and in the worst cases will make excuses not to see someone again. There are boundaries, but these boundaries can be flexible. Most girls don't kiss their clients, but some (perhaps many) will kiss clients they like (the clients they want to see again). Most girls practice safe sex, but some will perform condom-free blowjobs with clients they like (ditto the wanting to see again). I heard this second-hand from the two escorts I knew, but I also know this to be true, that girls can sometimes get a bit infatuated with a client and the rules get broken. This is beyond wanting to see a client again to relieve him of more money, and sometimes goes as far as relationships getting formed and hearts getting broken and so on. But mostly it's about bareback sex and things like anal play and generally going well beyond the script. It's quaint, and also a bit sad, that if the client is really and genuinely nice, the only thing she can 'give' him in return is the time of his life for an hour or two.

The girls are tight-knit amongst themselves, and there is a cameraderie amongst sex workers in a given city, even though theoretically they are in competition with each other. The girls, even though they are in it for the money, sometimes get turned on during sex, and self-admit a degree of frustration when their horny feelings aren't resolved during a session. They also told me that they sometimes come with clients. They strike me as being very practical and earthy when it comes to sex, which is not surprising. This ties in a bit with the script getting broken comment above.

My observations are based on the two sex workers I got to know, and they relate to the sex industry in Australia. Sex work has been legal here for a long time, and the industry has matured. There are discussion forums, and some of the girls who are in business for themselves are quite sophisticated with their own websites and other marketing tools. The girls I knew were high-class long-term stayers, other girls at the lower end of the market almost certainly have a different take on the sex industry and the clients and so on.

One time, after sex with my wife, she gave me ten dollars.

But that was to run up to the shops to get her a packet of cigarettes.

    Does that count? :p

Nope. I don't take money for things I'd gladly do for free. LOL

Seriously, no. Only been with two people anyway.
