I imagine that's hard to do with a sticky camera. ;)

In all seriousness, these are very pretty. :D What kind of equipment are you using?

That first hummingbird looks like it has a a lobster tail. What's it called, if you know? Those are beautiful. My Kodak Easyshare is a C330. I guess it's about the same your model, but it isn't that clear any more. Beach trips, parties and other wear and tear have probably misaligned the optics.

I used to post pictures of our flowers and wildlife here. Maybe I'll dig some of them up since so many SFers are different now.

Although it looks like a cross between a hummingbird and a crayfish, it's actually a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth. Neat, huh?

If you look closely, you'll notice that there are bugs in all the pics but the last.

I've lived in this area for most of my life and this is only the second time I've seen one BUT, maybe I saw them before and thought they were hummingbirds.

According to my research, they aren't endangered or protected in my state.

That's crazy. I've just...I've never seen that or even HEARD of something like that. Whoever created that must have one hell of a sense of humor. Much like the platypus :)

Just to clarify, I meant the part about me posting pics of me masturbating, not the part about me having talent with a camera. Didn't want anyone to think I was more vain than I already am.

    Thanks, Lucky. ;)

Ms CL, do you have a bug fascination or is this what you're doing in your down time? Either way, they are beautiful.

I just like to sit still amongst the wild things and see if they will allow me to take their pictures. Bugs seem to be the most willing models, far more patient than most mammals I've tried to photograph. That's why I have so many good pictures of them.

Great pics! That Hummingbird Clearwing Moth is new to me. In the video, if it was not moving so slowly I would think it was a hummingbird.
