Neither a pea nor a nut.
It's a nut in a pea pod. And the nut is shaped like a pea.
Last I checked my peas were small green and perfectly round, unlike the oblong pea-nutty intruders.
Unless of course you compare them to say...black eyed peas that have a bit more of a oval shape to them.
I had a chuawuah named peanut once, he died last year at the age of 21
21, really! That's amazing, especially for a small dog.
Regarding peanuts; they are legumes like some so-called peas are. Lentils are too. Don't we call them peas? I was going to say soy bean, but I guess the "bean" part disqualifies it.
A joke from my 6 year-old neice......
Did you hear about the two peanuts walking through the park one night?
One was.... "a salted"......:eyes
