I'm talking besides the basic pills, Viagra, Cialis, Levitra. What other ways are there to help maintain an erection? I tried having sex last week, it was the first time in quite a while. I took a Cialis and it had no effect, though the pills were about a year past their expiration date, which is why I think they did nothing. Because they have worked for me in the past just fine.

I ordered some new Cialis pills, because I might be attempting sex with the same girl again. But are there things I can do in addition to taking the pills to help maintain an erection?

A couple of things I was thinking, was using the "Priming the pump" technique, I researched it here Delayed Ejaculation It is intended for Delayed Ejaculation, but would it also help to cure ED? The second thing I was thinking of, was to simply get more rest. I notice that when I am over worked and waking up to my alarm clock every morning, then it is more difficult to get an erection. But whenever I sleep in and get lots of rest, I find getting erections is much easier.

I want to do whatever I can to be prepared. This girl seems to have interest in me still, but I am afraid that if I can't get it up the second time being with her, then she will lose interest in me.

    Hi OOMM,
You seem far too young to suffer from ED due to the most usual plumbing problem so suggest you get yourself off to the doctor for a physical exam. He will check various other body systems which can impact on your ability to get and sustain an erection.
Do not self medicate as it could mask something more sinister.
With regards to Cialis, my experience is thatthey do indeed lose potency and even before expiry so yours would have had the same effect as swallowing a Tic Tac.
Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

I doubt it. I think you would have to be continuously aroused for that to work at all.

Are you talking an erection in the morning or later at night? If you are tired it can affect your arousal. I have problems in the morning regardless but then I am just a few more years older than you and have side-effects from BP meds.

I did go to the doctor about a year ago to be tested for STD's, I told the gal doctor I was taking Cialis, she said o.k. The doctor didn't seem to bring up any concern by it. I have considered going to a clinic that specializes in E.D, but it takes time and money, I don't know if that would be worth it.

I am talking erections at night, that is usually the only time I attempt sex. And yes I was pretty tired, I'm sure that was part of the problem.

    OOMM,
I'm coming back here because sensing something not quite right.
That woman GP should have been much more thorough in asking you why you need ED med at your age; it does not make much sense and dude while I don't know everything and my area of speciality is pathology (as Med Scientist) but I stress here I am not a doctor but know enough to know what one of them should be investigating. See a male GP next time ok and in this I am not being sexist because mine is also a female ok?
If you are single, not getting much sex then your libido and body should be raring to go at the slightest chance of having sex. Any event causing failure to erection with a likely date unless psychophysical due to for instance stage fright does not sound normal.
My advice remains the same even if it is going to cost you money.
Know one thing dude, that gal might give you a second chance but if you cannot deliver next time you are axed because they (women) see it (wrongly in this instance) as a measure of your level of interest in them.

Yeah the doctor I saw probably just wasn't real interested in E.D, not her specialty I guess. There is a clinic in my area that specializes in E.D and pre-mature ejaculation, which is probably all male doctors, I don't know. That would be the place I would go to and ask questions like what you brought up. I think odds are it is safe that I take Cialis and that there is nothing else seriously wrong, but you're right there is still some risk.

But right now I am trying to find other ways to help my performance. What if she invites me over again and I haven't gotten around to seeing a doctor? One thing I noticed is that when I go over to the girls place for sex, I have a harder time maintaining an erection. When a girl comes to my place it's easier, sometimes I don't even need any pills to keep it up. I think it's because I'm just more comfortable being at home. However, this girl lives in another country and she doesn't have her passport, so she can't come to my place. I can only go and visit her.
