Hey y'all...I enjoy the macabre, so I'm thinking of writing an erotic story centered around a vampire. Some parts of it might be a little...well...macabre! Y'all think this crowd could handle that? ;)

macabre ??? not sure what that is.
but a vampire story sounds cool.

insadently we just bought 30 days of night, but hadn't whatched it yet.

    Macabre:
1.gruesome and horrifying; ghastly; horrible. 2.of, pertaining to, dealing with, or representing death, esp. its grimmer or uglier aspect. 3.of or suggestive of the allegorical dance of death.

Hmm...maybe macabre is too strong of a term. Let's try lurid instead!

    Lurid:
1.gruesome; horrible; revolting: the lurid details of an accident. 2.glaringly vivid or sensational; shocking: the lurid tales of pulp magazines. 3.terrible in intensity, fierce passion, or unrestraint: lurid crimes. 4.lighted or shining with an unnatural, fiery glow; wildly or garishly red: a lurid sunset. 5.wan, pallid, or ghastly in hue; livid.

Umm, doubt I'd read it, myself. After reading all of the Anne Rice books, I am kinda vampired out.

That's not the kind of cookie I want from you, CL. You'll like this story I'm sure. (I've never read any of the Ann Rice novels...is there any eroticism in them, just out of curiosity?)

There's a very large market out there for anything Vampire related - I'd read it. If you're into things of that nature I can turn you onto some music that you'd really enjoy...

Actually, yeah, I do love vampire stories...have since I was a kid. I'm aware of Type-O Negative and I like their music, although I'm not crazy about their singer's vocals. If you know of some good groups with similar lyrical content, post it up! I'll check 'em out...

We wrote a song about Lestat (the vampire in the Ann Rice novels and a movie) in the last rock/metal band that I played in years ago. Unfortunately, we never got a good recording of it...it was a great song in my opinion.
