I simply LOVE Sweeny Todd (the production, not the man himself... though I do think Johnny Depp has been handsome from Cry Baby to Chocolate to Sweeny Todd to ... whatever else). I performed in a production of this. It was a splendid time and a splendid cast!

BUT! I have a certain keenness for the Disney movie musicals (especially the animated ones).

    Mulan
: This movie made the appeal of either strong women or Asian women attractive to me.

    Lion King
    :

    Pocahontas
    :

    Off of that now...

    Jersey Boys
: I performed this song live. Any time I hear it, I get some what teary eyed.

    Bye, Bye Birdy
: I also performed a production of this.

Musical Number: Bye Bye Birdie - Telephone Hour - YouTube

    Any others?

I love the offbeat musicals, like the episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that was one.

Also loved repo: the gentic opera and my new fun one is Dr Horrible with Neal Patrick Harris.

Hate Glee but still love the Grease movies too along with Cry Baby. The Wall is also a good one

The Lord of the Rings musical did not get very good reviews, but this seems odd to me after listening to some songs on "The Tube of You":D. The songs seem to nail the "Tolkien feel". Check how they switch to elvish in this song:

The Lord of The Rings - Lothlorien - YouTube

or this hobbit song which seems very "hobbit-ish" to me:

LOTR--Now and for Always - YouTube

Well, maybe it only appeals to die-hard Tolkien fans such as myself :eyes

I love the Rocky Horror Picture show. I only, recently, started attending biweekly shows put on by, appropriately enough, the Rich Weirdos.
