    So.

We have a music thread and a thread about non-sexual videos that move you. Call me crazy (and many before you have, I guarantee it!) but I thought it would be interesting to combine the two.

So yeah, my lovely friends, please post links to music that moves you. Not just random music videos, but songs that bring you to the height of emotion, whatever emotion that might be. Sadness, joy, empathy, bliss.... anything. Just let us know how it makes you feel.

I could probably totally fill this thread, and I'm sure I will over time, but I'm going to start with a song that inspired me to start this thread. It was playing on my stereo (yes, on a CD on the stereo that sits on my bedside table, if that gives you any indication of how ancient I am) and it actually brought me to tears, as it always does. It talks about sadness, depression, loneliness and the need for friendship in a world where it seems all is lost and no one is listening to you. I won't explain why, but I'm incapable of listening to this song without falling apart.

So here's my first offering (let's see yours!). But don't limit yourself to sad songs - I'd love to see some happy ones too! Lord knows we could all do with that sort of thing too, haha! :) xxxx

This song makes me think about love and happiness and makes me wish for everyone to be able to just be happy and in love

Good call. She wasn't as big over here as she should have been, but I do have one of her albums. :)

Written by Mike Portnoy (their former drummer) while his father was on his deathbed. He got to sing it to him before he died of cancer.
Much of it parallels my relationship with my grandfather. I can't not cry when I listen to it.

I don't know if there are any Henry Rollins fans here, but he's always been an advocate of the fact that music ties us all together, no matter how different we are. I know there's a wide variety of differing opinions on this site, but you have to admit that when we start talking about music, we suddenly have so much in common. :) xx

    Oh. My. Fucking. God.

One of the first instruments I taught myself to play was the piano, and Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" was the first song I taught myself to play. That and Pachelbel's Canon in D. Playing those two songs on the piano was my escape from being bullied in school and the shite I was getting at home. I always knew I loved you Xtacy. ;) xxxx

hmmmm...I have a ton of songs to that have meaning to me. I'm sure I will post many as well.:) A couple songs that got me thinking to change my "evil ways" :p and get on the right track or at least a little safer one, when I was living pretty hard back in my youth. ;)

That just reminded me of one of my favourite Alice Cooper "redemption" songs. This is a track from my second favourite Alice Cooper album (mind you, it's a very close second after Hey Stoopid), and it's the point in the album at which I need to grab a tissue (not for that you gubby people!!!):
