    Hey everyone.

Recently I've managed to get ahold of an apartment to rent which for me is the first time I'm going to live on my own for real.
I've lived with my parents up to this point which I have been a bit embarrased about to be honest.

Anyways, there is A LOT of stuff I need to buy as I don't own much more than a bed, desk, a computer and my collection of games.

So I'm asking for any and all tips on stuff I should consider/buy/whatever when I move for the first time.
I'm confident I'll get what I need on my own but it doesnt hurt to ask for opinions, now does it? :)

Depending on your financial means, I would say to stick to the basics. Couch/love-seat for living room sitting, small table/card table for someplace to eat, dishes, pots and pans. Towels, bedding, & trash can. Are a few things that come to mind right away. Good luck :)

A nice thick memory foam mattress. Don't cheap out on something you'll spend a third of your live on, and sexy time on it are awesome too.

Things to cook with, eat on, sleep on, sit on & things to shower with, A CAN OPENER. Jesus christ I can't tell you how many times we've forgotten a can opener when moving around. LOl

Just remember that it'll be ok, this move is good for you and you'll have all the privacy that you've wanted for so long. :)

If you are pressed for money, just get a foldaway bed/couch. Then later you can buy a real bed and use the couch for guests.

A Crock Pot. I recommend an oval shaped one.

A desk, a bed, a microwave - assuming a refrigerator is included with the apartment. You're set, beyond that pay cash and save for a down payment on a house.

I hadnt actually thought about either a can opener or a bottle opener so thanks :)
Come to think of it though I do have a bottle opener I made myself a long time ago.

A microwave oven is a must for sure. refrigerator, freezer and stove is included already.

All you need is a big TV and satilite reception. A screwdriver will get into most cans and bottles. A 55" LED and a Dish reciever LOL. Just go with the essentials first, then make a list of things as you discover you need them. Don't forget cleaning supplies, broom, mop, etc.
