Now I'm not one who knows a lot about movies but I wanted to find more of a certain type of genre I love.
    Sciene fiction/Comedy.

perfect examples include The Fifth Element and Spaceballs.

These two are the only ones I know of and I'd love some suggestions of other movies in that category I could check out.

This isn't what you meant, but I almost always find very old sci fi to be comical. I just watched the pilot for Star Trek on Netflix ...couldn't help but laugh at those guys with butts on the back of their heads....

Well, there's this list, which has the 2 movies you mention, and a few others. Some I'm not sure fit what you're thinking of, but a few others, like Galaxy Quest, do.

    I appreciate the list Texas!
However there are quite a few movies on there that I would not consider science fiction per se. Like Flubber and Young Frankenstein.
I see Mars Attacks! is on there which I have seen once but I had completely forgotten about it.

I'll check out some of them that sound interesting.

Yeah, like I said, quite a few on there don't really seem to fit, but there's a few others that hopefully will. :)

"The Fifth Element" is my #1 favorite movie of all time. "Mars Attacks" is also a great sci fi flick that is hysterical and such an under rather movie.

    Have you seen "Slitter"?

No. I think you missed the part where I said that I was looking for sci-fi comedies.

No one has mentioned 2001: A Space Odyssey yet?

I've seen 2001 but as I've said I'm looking for comedies. 2001 is not a comedy.

Fifth Element is a comedy? It's got funny parts, but I certainly wouldn't consider it that.

The fifth element doesn't take itself seriously and have lots of jokes all over the place. That's pretty much my definition of a comedy.

Look, I don't want to argue about what genre a certain movie is or is not. I'm just looking for suggestions here. I'm glad you suggested I watch 2001. It is not what I was looking for but thank you for the suggestion. :)
