The "Who?" bit - and that you said what I was thinking but holding back from posting . :D

You're not an asshole... or maybe you are, but that frightens me considering I'm not sure what that makes me!

I have to side with you, hockey, I know most of the players across the league. Know quite a few names in baseball, some in football, and aside from those that make the arrest list on TV, not a damn one in basketball.

He was 48.... Damn... I'm 50..., and I can't imagine leaving my kids now.., my daughter is still young enough that her memories of me would most likely fade almost completely by the time she became an adult.
I don't care what he did for a living. He was someone's father, and he's gone. And that's sad.

True, I had a friend from HS that died of a heart attack at age 21. My good friend died at 37 of kidney failure, 3 failed transplants. There have been about 50 of my graduating class of 608 that have died so far. You never know.

Yeah, sometimes it just feels too close... I had a customer, exactly my age, birthday was a week before mine. He was a gym rat. In the best shape of anyone I know... He was a HS swim coach...and was poolside watching his daughter compete when he collapsed and died with zero warning... Just makes you realize it can happen to us at any time... Without warning, no matter how healthy we try to live

Damn, sorry to hear that.. The only positive thing that I can think of, that comes from these losses, is that those of us that are still here learn how valuable "today" is. Because there is no guaranty about tomorrow...

I'll be 51 in April. While I try to take care of myself and exercise regularly, I don't go psychotic with it. You have to live a bit, you really don't know if there is a tomorrow. My wife goes a bit nuts with the whole health thing, but she actually enjoys it. I've known too many people that have died from strange shit way too young. Of course I've known more that died from stupid shit though.
