Do you consider reading erotic literature, fiction and non-, the same as watching porn?

Not sure what you mean by being the same. SOmetimes I'll get more turned on by reading
something than watching. When reading, you can visualize things the way you want them to be.

Not really. It's more like day dreaming without the visual aids, but with guidance from the author:). Also (and I may be completely alone in this position, mind you) if you're reading erotic literature you're not supporting prostitution, but if you watch porn then you are. I'm not saying this to make people feel bad about themselves. I don't think prostitution has to be a bad thing.

I think they go together very well. I like to read erotic stories. And having ready many erotic stories, I can imagine my own stories while I'm looking at erotic pictures (okay, porn). By the way, don't ever let anyone tell you that women don't like at porn.

It serves the same purpose but I don't get off reading erotica. Just doesn't do it for me. I need visuals, sounds, etc.

You can argue that you can play out your own visuals in your head with erotic stories but for me it isn't the same and I find them often to be quite cheesy.

Remember the old paperback romance novels that used to dominate bookstore and supermarket checkout lanes? I've heard them refered to as female porn, and knew lots of gals who loved to read them.

Yeah, I can really get off on reading something hot. I like talking dirty or reading a nasty text. It just makes my mind go in overdrive. But even in a porn mag, the way they discribe some of the stories gets the pages sticky haha. But there are those times when you need sound and visuals too. I think I like both close to equally the same it just depends on the mood.
