I'm the co-owner of a DC photography studio and we've recently dabbled in some "risque" photo sessions. We've mostly done guys who want pics of their money shot and masturbation sessions for dating, swinger, or fetish website profiles, but we're looking to expand to other types of sessions.

The only problem is we don't know how to advertise or what there is a market for. Any ideas? I'm not soliciting business, but hypothetically, would anyone be interested, and if so, what types of sessions should we offer the public? We're just kind of testing the waters right now and we don't know what to offer, or where to begin for that matter. I guess this forum is just kinda a brainstorm session to see what type of interest is out there. And as I've already stated, THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT! I am not soliciting business or customers. I'm simply trying to find out if there's a market for such things. If personal opinions bear out that there is, I'll do my marketing and research elsewhere, not here.

    Hi Castleworks,
Well hypothetically if you were in my town then I would love for you to do tasteful shots of SO and I making love as in the word LOVE and not porn.
We have been looking for such an opportunity but the photographer (like you) would need to be a female and one we both trust and feel comfortable with.

I would think you would have a great market for women especially. Those looking for someone to take sexy, risque photos to surprise their SO with. Calendar would be awesome. In my area we have a upscale magazine for our"town" and that would be a great place to advertise , maybe just giving the suggestion that you are open to "erotic????" photo sessions. Another idea is to place an ad in an adult entertainment publication. For instance our local toy store carries adult QUEST. Houston's premiere adult entertainment publication.
    Hope that helps

There are actually a lot of professional photog shops specifically for things like this. Sometimes you can find them advertising in the newspaper classifieds and such, esp. indie papers, and of course "adult" magazines. I Googled a few terms like "sensual photography", "boudoir photography" and "sexy photography" and got plenty of different hits.

Castleworks I would suggest doing a lot of Googling and checking out how these different shops have their sites designed, etc. A lot can be gleaned just from that. I'd also suggest Googling and then hitting up fetish sites meant for allowing people to meet, as they may very well have advertisements for photographers and such for that particular clientele.
