Forgive me for beefing about something so trivial but, this really gets my goat.

Countless times, I have seen people both here and elsewhere on the net use the word "advise" when they really mean "advice."

Learn the meaning of each word and use them appropriately, people! :yell

That is all for now. I'm sure I'll find something else to bitch about soon; please stand by. :lol

I notice spelling errors all the time. I know these are two different words, but this forum is international. A lot of people are multilingual and I admire their command of the English language. I speak a little Spanish but I doubt I could participate on a Spanish speaking forum. I even see the difference in spelling of a few words from our British Empire members. They invented this language, and I hear that they don't really approve of what we've done to it. I ignore grammatical, and spelling errors. Hell I ain't purfeck myself. Luv ya C.L.

You know what pisses me off?

People that use the word Orientated. It's Oriented.
And the word Irregardless. Irregardless means "regardful" and that sounds stupid as hell. The word is "regarding", but that's not how people use it. They use it instead of "Regardless".

I also hate it when my Rice Krispies swear at me. Mother **cking krispies. Learn some manners.

People apparently lose their typing ability when they're angry.

    (Did I get it right?!)

Want me to grammar police? :phat

Post #3 "lol" is not A word, but is A abbreviation.
Post #4 "Luv ya C.L" is not A word. No capital A's. "purfeck" is not a word.
Post #5 should be "I am annoyed by how poor writing has became."
instead of "I amas much annoyed by how poor writing has become too."
Post #9 No capitalization, too many periods.
Post #11 too many periods. "lol" is not a word, but is A abbreviation. No capital A's.

English 102 is going to be my major, when I start school in Jan'11.
Math is going to be my minor. It sucks because math used to be my major and English was my minor. :ugh I'm not going to say what class#, as I am too embarrassed to say.I believe they would have given me English 103, if 102 was not a requirement for 103. As I had gotten A perfect score on the English part of the test.

Surely, anybody capable of typing out a reply should be able to tap out whole words rather than use text speak.....:ugh

    There/Their/They're, lose/loose

Actually, "irregardless" is a non-standard form of regardless. Dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster Online both corroborate that. :p

Have you heard George Carlin's take on his Rice Krispies? "Snap, Crackle, Fuck you!" :rofl

There, fixed that for you. :D

Edit: Ever heard someone say "supposably" instead of supposedly? And those who say "cut the mustard" instead of "cut the muster".

    Wow TooThick.

Did you completely miss that we were all intentionally writing with spelling and grammatical errors aplenty as an ironic response to the nature of the thread OP?
