My grandmother makes homemade jam every summer and sends it to everyone she knows. I just received a jar of red raspberry and a jar of strawberry-blackberry. Both jars were packed extremely well and arrived intact but the seal on the raspberry jar had broken and the jar leaked a little bit. The strawberry-blackberry was fine, seal intact. I've heard that the high sugar content of jams does a pretty good job of preserving it, but I was wondering if any of you Martha Stewart types knows for sure. Is the jam safe to eat? It was sent on the 6th and arrived today, the 12th.

I think in that length of time you'd be fine, but I'm not an expert by any means.
