Yes, I just posted a tribute to him. I'm an 80's child, I lived to his music as a teen. Still remember the first time I saw the movie Purple Rain.

Ditto to everything you just said.

No one of his generation had the talent he had as a total master of funk. Funk is very big here in my flat (the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show being a regular thing), but of all funk musicians, Prince was by far my favourite - both as a funk artist and as a musician in general. And no one has ever had the talent he has on guitar - sorry Clapton fans, but it's true.

Growing up, the "Purple Rain" soundtrack (on vinyl, haha) and the album "1999" were my biggest influence when it came to my sex education, and probably one of the major reasons I'm the naughty kinkster I am today (and very much into "gender-bending"/androgynous types - he was the one who introduced me to the entire concept).

    Gutted. Absolutely gutted. :(
