Let's see if anyone can make some good suggestions based on my first play list and the things my wife did and didn't like... In general, I think she likes the faster stuff better than the slower stuff.

    Likes:
Joi - Lick (because damn, she loves getting oral sex, and this made it better until we were interrupted)
    YouTube - ‪Joi - Lick‬‏
    Monifah - Touch it
    YouTube - ‪Monifah - Touch It‬‏
Zapp & Roger - More Bounce to the Ounce
    YouTube - ‪Zapp & Roger - More Bounce To The Ounce‬‏

    Didn't like:
    Paula Cole - Feelin' Love
    YouTube - ‪Paula Cole - Feelin' Love‬‏

Other songs I had on my list but which I don't have her reaction:
    Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
Portishead - Wandering Star, Roads, Glory Box (I thought they are sexy, but I suspect they might be too slow for her)
    YouTube - ‪Portishead - Roads‬‏
    YouTube - ‪Portishead - glory box‬‏
Garbage - Milk, Queer (Milk might be too slow, and she seems to have a thing about not liking redheads so Garbage might not work out)
    YouTube - ‪Garbage - Queer‬‏
Goldfrapp - Lovely Head (probably too slow)
    YouTube - ‪Goldfrapp - Lovely Head‬‏
MONO - Life in mono (I'm not sure I am that into this song)
Rihana - Let me (This will probably work well, we just didn't get to it before we were interrupted and the mood was kinda broken)

Agreed. While I posted this I was listening to the Laura Pausini version of Stella Gamella, which is a great song with a gorgeous set of key changes, but the lyrics aren't really suitable for sex!

Well... As much as I appreciate your input, I'd like to point out that from my songs I had picked out, Feelin' Love was one that my wife didn't care for.. Slow grind songs aren't the kind of songs I'm looking for. I liked Feelin Love a lot myself, but for the most part I don't think slower songs are what I'm looking for.

Personally, I've seen R Kelly appear on a lot of lists - and I don't get it, I haven't heard anything from him that does anything for me.

It seems like what works best for us is club/techno/dance type stuff I guess.

In all my years of marriage (over 45) we have never wanted music playing while having sex.
TO each their own but just the normal human-made sounds were fine for us.

Well, with all respect due to someone who's been here for 5 years, I'd point out that we as people in general tend to establish a set of baseline expectations and preferences for sex when we start out having it... And 45 years ago, cars actually had back seats. And I'm sure that while in these back seats, many a couple probably tuned out the movie playing in the background.

The point being.. 45 years ago, things were different... They didn't even want to broadcast Elvis's pelvis on TV. I enjoyed a lot of the early rock from the '50's and early '60's, but I wouldn't put any of it on my list for this subject - so that being the case, I'd think if that was the era where I established my basic sexual preferences I'd feel the same way.

Instead, I grew up with music like Motley Crue, Warrant, Van Halen... "She's my cherry pie..." comes to mind. Probably a good one for the list too. Having grown up when MTV started, and when they actually had music videos on the channel instead of Jersey Shore, is probably another influence.

For our part, I'd reference how some people have said music is distracting. That works in our favor when we get some time alone after our 2 kids have been driving us nuts. Music helps us to clear our minds and refocus on the pleasurable activity at hand.

Beyond that, it can establish rhythm, pace and mood.

Personally I'm an engineer, but I grew up having been in band - and in high school, the music teacher was one of those who wanted to compose jazz but had to go into teaching because he needed to have an income, so I learned and music can be influential on my emotions. I'm not ashamed to say that things like the Band of Brothers theme song and Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful move me to tears, and the orchestral score of the Pirates of the Carribbean increases my heart rate.
