Nothing sexual, nothing really important but for those of us blind, getting your new glasses is a MAJOR thing.

Today, I get my new ones. :)

I found out at my appointment last week that at the ripe old age of 21, I have cataracts in both my eyes. Isn't that somethin? Lol

*Shrugs* The way I see it, when I get the surgery to remove the cataracts, then I'll be seeing better then I ever did before.

Also, weird question. For anyone who wears contacts, do you know of anywhere that you can purchase colored TORIC lenses? Especially ones that go up to -6.0 because yes, I am THAT blind.

Sucks about the cataracts, but you do have a point about being able to see better than ever once they're gone.

Are you going to post a pic of you with your new glasses on?

I bet you will be cute as hell in your new glasses!

I am going tomorrow for new ones myself.

Really young for cataracs, did they say why you are getting them so young?

Good luck with the cataract surgery. Hope all goes well and you really do see better than before. It's got to be a little scary knowing that they are cutting on your eyes. I know a couple of guys who had it done, and they said it was like they were wearing shades before the surgery. Their vision improved that much.

No, our file attachment feature has never worked. You have to use an image host. I use photobucket for non sexual pictures.

You guys are too awesome *hugs*

As far as the cataracts is concerned, yes, I know what did it. I was put on an unapproved medication (trial basis) when I was 18. The drug is now quite popular but is having A LOT of problems and lawsuit's. Unfortunately my issue isn't part of that yet. Just causing diabetes, liver failure, heart attack, stroke..ya know, the normal stuff. Heh.

I'd say that I was lucky. Only down side to it all, they've only found a "casual" relation to this side affects in humans and the drug, while with animals (namely dogs) it was a steady reaction with an elevated dose over small periods of time.

It'll still be a couple years before I have to actually go in for the surgery thankfully. We're just keeping a very close eye on it until then.

Love the new glasses, Mittimer. Seriously cute on ya! Sucks about the cataracts though. Don't take any chances with your eyesight. I have 2 friends that are losing theirs, it's no fun at all. :(

You can get coloured toric lenses here in Canberra; toric is very common these days. Mine about about -5 toric multifocal, but only lightly coloured, just a light tint which makes them easy to find if you drop them on the basin or somewhere. This tint doesn't alter the colour of my eyes, which are naturally grey-green (something I don't want to change).

I have worn contacts all day every day since the early 1980s, and only use my glasses in the evening at home. I detest glasses.
