    Right, I posted one of these adverts before and had to provide a Scots/English translation.

    I think this is easier to understand:

    For those who do not know, in the UK and Australia [.......I think!] a fanny is a woman's 'lady bits'. More commonly refered to on this board as a PUSSY!

    It is. In the States a fanny is a butt but in the UK it is a pussy.

    I know....... Goodness knows how that one got confused. I mean it is pretty ridiculous.

    Yeah it's actually a bit confusing when you try to learn English the first time. Even worse are the dialects that distort the language even more. American street language is amazing though, how it's so fast and so blunt X3.

    Yep, the fanny is the "front bottom" here which makes me laugh when I hear a bum bag referred to as a fanny pack. :eek

    Yep, have you noticed that the American's seldom refer to the 'fanny' on TV and film now? Obviously language is becoming more universal!

    What about those poor souls, usually quite elderly, who were christened Francis but were called Fanny.
    "Have you seen old Fanny recently?"
    "Not seen any fanny for some time".
