Hello all. I've always wondered this but have never had an answer that satisfies.

I was a lucky SOB and started growing my beard at 16 (Not some peach-fuzz, rat-hair thing either! A full beard.) I'm 23 now and have had it for most of that time now.

But has it been driving away the ladies?! I wonder. I think I look best with it, but I think the general opinion amongst the ladies is that it would be awkward during kissing or oral sex.

If any of you are curious, mine in particular is kept short and clean and trimmed. It's not soft, but it doesn't poke too much either.

So let me know, what is the general opinion here on this?

I personally dislike beards. They have never been appealing to me at all.

Personally, I am not fond of a beard. It's for asthetic reasons totally. I like seeing a man's face. However, clean, trimmed goatee-styled facial hair is not too bad. Thorn has sported this from time to time. I like him better without it though. He looks younger that way.

As far as kissing or oral - again, I like it smoother. I don't think it changes the feeling of oral sex, but the kissing afterwards can get a bit sloppy.

I love the look of a well trimmed beard, but I hate the feel of one on my skin. I have sensitive skin, and a beard feels too prickly and is apt to make my skin get red.

I used to have a goatee that I kept neatly trimmed. But my wife found it prickly, so after a year I shaved it off. :)

Well, sniff, after nearly 25 years with a full beard, I guess it's too late for me to shave! However, BOOO, HOOO, HOOO, I guess that nobody would love me!!!

"OHHHHH, everybody hates me, nobody loves me
    guess I'll go eat WORMS!
Big fat juicy ones, little teeny skinny ones
see how they wiggle and squirm!
Bite all the heads off suck all the guts out
    throw the skins awaaaaaay!
I don't see how birds can live
on worms three times a daaaaaay!!!!

Guess I'll just skulk off and go comb my beard! SNIF!!!!

I LOVVVVVE beards on men if they're well kept and look right on the man.
Some men just look better with little or no facial hair, but the ones who wear a beard reasonably well drive me crazy! :)
My husband keeps a goatee and mustache neatly trimmed and I like that, but it is a little picky when kissing, he seems to manage fine without it bothering me when he goes down.
Then again, I like somewhat hairy men, so I do have a bias. ;)

My wife prefers me clean shaven because it doesn't sting or leave her sore when I go down on her :)

Well I won't make a final decision based on this, but you gals seem to agree with my suspicion.

Hmph, I look like a wanker without it, but hey! Let's give it a go for a few months!

@ HerHubby: Crazy. I have no idea what you're saying, but it makes for some interesting reading. Keep it coming!

It depends on the man, completely. If there is a man that looks good with a beard, I like it. If not, no. Lol. My fiance has one, and looks nice with or without it. Win-win situation...It's not a long beard, just a neatly trimmed one. But, he looks nice with it.

    Kumanchu (sp?). They are hot.
But it also depends on the person, but I seem to float towards the kumanchu boys. ;p
