Has anyone ever dated/had a relationship/hook-up with anyone at work? Or near work (close company connections)?

I had some VERY tempting opportunities several times, some would have been sex only and it ws obvious.
I always avoided it. Not interested in being the talk of the workplace, or even if she would never say a thing.
Or if for more than sex, mixing relationship and work is not desired, especially with the possibility of things going sour.
Oh, I have witnessed that happen twice. Toxic!!

Speaking both from observation and experience, this is generally not a good idea.

Many people first meet in the workplace, date and even marry so it is not allways negative.
I have seen both good and bad happen.

It's a fine place to meet if one person can leave if it gets serious.

it is called fraternizing and some companies don't allow it. can be very unproductive from an employers standpoint and generally not good idea.

I've done it. It started with one woman, then it was two women. Which became complicated.
My wife refers to this as my "man whore" phase.
They both ended somewhat messy. I quit that job eventually and made one small fuck up. I didn't get the letters woman #1 wrote to me out of the folder in my filing cabinet. Haha. Whoops.
They were very explicit and detailed about all the things we would do together. My buddy called me and told me the entire office passed them around reading them. Kinda embarrassing. :)
I would tread carefully if you're considering doing it. Something very private can become very public with one slip up. And companies do frown upon it.

What if the meat is next to the bread? Not the same "store"?

I have no idea of the type of work situation/environment you are in. If it's with a sales service rep for another company that does business with yours maybe less of a problem. If it's someone in a different department of the same business again maybe but I'd want to know company policy.

I once had a gal ask me if I would be interested in some NSA. I was all about the job and had to ask her to repeat a few times.

She was trying to be discrete. I was like What? What ? What did you say? LOL

The offer was still on the table, but I had to leave and when I went back, I forgot all about it. Wish I would have taken her up on her offer now-a-days

Had other offers at work. I had one girl cry. - That made me feel real bad. I would have done her too. I was all about work during working hours. They would make subtle suggestions and it would never register fast enough. as I wasn't even thinking about what they were.

Its all about maturity levels. Break ups can suck but it takes a bit of childishness to allow it to affect your income.Case in point, I lived with an ex(who i met thru work) for 9 months while i was dating my current gf (baby mama as of 1/28/15 yay!) whom ii met at a new job. Awkwardness ran amok, but being actual adults about the situation is probably why current gf and I are 5 yrs in.

Where I work we have substantially
    restrictive regulations about that.
    Including mandatory divulgation
of relationships (the few that are allowed)

There have been some high profile cases of inapropriate
relationships being exposed and some, notably a Brig-Gen,
    loosing their job over it.

Did that stop me from fornicating with some of my coworkers?
Of course not, because Im a hopeless dimwit who cant help himself.

I am however an incredibly lucky reckless dimwit who never got caught. :D

Yes, twice. Once with a coworker, she left shortly after, moved away with her boyfriend and once with the vice presidents daughter, she was a great fuck that last about 4 months still kept the job though

I once had a fling with a co-worker and it was a good weekend for both of us. We were peers, but it got weird when she started realizing I was dating other women and stuff. While it ended in the short term well, it went bad quickly.
