aww... what made you decide against a career in comedy?
The world could do with more good comedians. Lord knows it needs a good laugh!

My favourites are those who can laugh at themselves. That's such an admirable quality :)

Ricky Gervais would have to be my all time Nr.1
    Steve Coogan
    Stephen Fry
    Craig Fergusson
    Dylan Moran
    Johnny Vegas
    Jo Brand
    Bill Baily
    Phil Jupitus
    Alan Davies
Good lord.. pretty much everyone who's ever been on the QI panel! They're all brilliantly funny in their own ways. Also love Patricia Routledge (better known as Hyacinth Bucket) for her brilliant comedic timing and those faces she pulls. Oh, and Karl Pilkington. Not technically a comedian but funny as hell. The Brits have such charm and wit as cannot be matched!

Conan O'Brien, Louis C.K., Larry David and Lewis Black are the best American ones out there IMHO.

Hahaha jeez I almost forgot about lewis black. He's great.

I was gonna say that for someone young, I'm pretty old school. Loved george carlin, especially the early days. He was such an average joe and managed to make people laugh at stuff most of them have thought themselves at some point.

And lately I've actually grown to like daniel tosh haha. Simple, maybe not an all-timer, but plenty clever

I'll have to look into his stuff. Thanks for the suggestion!
There's another funny woman, I think her last name is Cho but I can't remember. She's Korean, I believe, and has loads of tattoos. She cracks me up on every interview she does! :D

I'm pretty old-school. Most of my favorites are long gone: Jack Benny, Bob Hope, George Goebel, Milton Berle, etc... Robin Williams is always a hoot, and Bob Newhart and Johnathon Winters are still around.

The TV show "Last Comic Standing" starts this week, which I will watch. Usually some good stuff there.

Buddy Hackett was tame on film but a hoot on stage.

Of course there are those who are better doing stand-up as opposed to comedians in movies as well.....
Three of my favourites....Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Lewis, Robin Williams, Bill Cosby and Cheech and Chong do well in both.....
Guys like Chevy Chase do better in movies.....:)

Jim Carrey is also very funny in interviews. Borderline insane. Love him!

    Some of my favourites:

    Robin Williams
    George Carlin
    Jeff Dunham (sort of standup)
    Blue Collar in general

    and my absolute favorite...
Russell Peters (classic example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYiteaPBlz0) don't watch it if you don't like it when people make fun of other races.
