How about a thread for some quotes you like or find interesting enough to discuss about? Can be in a picture or just type it in. If you can, please give the name who told it. You can agree to it or not and as long as it is not a religious, racist, sexist, misogynic or degrading in any way, we can discuss about it.

This I knew from long ago but forgotten, came up doing a search for an unrelated thing. I like it and updated it as my signature. It is by Dandemis, a brahmin philosopher who lived when Alexander the Great invaded India.
"Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong."

Not necessarily "interesting" in the sense you were looking for, but one of my favorite quotes comes from Jim Valvano's speech at the ESPYs shortly before he died of cancer. So many great things in that speech.

"Don't give up... Don't ever give up."

That's fine... That's very fine.. And I've always had that motto too though I do give up many times:(

It doesn't have to be interesting, what I meant by that was, there may be some quotes you may not agree with but find it interesting to discuss..

At a certain point, we could check the likes each quotes gets - not as a competition but rather to know what is more appreciated

I've got to translate this from Turkish. It's from a Turkish actor:
"I'm not strong enough to change the rules of life but I am strong enough not to obey them"

Thinking about this and what I've said "I've always had that motto too though I do give up many times", actually no, I did not have that motto. I had it inside but not outside if you know what I mean. I have always been known as a pessimistic. I believe in Murphy's law saying " If there is a slight chance of something to go wrong, it will go wrong". I've always believed things will go wrong but always said "don't give up" even if it won't turn good

no way... check out where I live

While the State exists, there can be no freedom. When there is freedom there will be no State.
    Lenin, "State and Revolution", 1919

Now that's a quote that can be discussed on

A man who argues with a fool is the greater fool.

A wise man knows that he does not know everything, a fool think that he does.

One for every salesman in this era of buy-outs & take-overs: Never knock your competitor, next month you might be working for him.

An 'expert' is a man who knows more and more about less and less until he knows everything about nothing.

Cynical: You can trust your enemies more than your friends, you know your enemies intents.

Cynical: Beware the pat on the back, they might just be feeling for the softest spot.

Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.

Love is like a red rose but every rose has its thorns.

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

And my favourite: Beware the smile on the face of a tiger.

Can we do this one by one so I could reply to the above first as
"Don't argue with fools, they will draw you in floolishness"
