Sorry just listing to NIN right now and I fucking love Trents music, didn't much care for his last to major and semi albums though.

Religion and sobriety never help musicians

Same goes for Skinny Puppy, herion can make some great Dark songs

However it can kill you, so a guess they will have to make the choice between great music and suriving.
Who said being a musician was easy.:lol

I used to listen to a lot of NIN when I was younger. Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral were some pretty good albums.

My favorite singer/band of all time is David Bowie, quite possibly the coolest person in the entire world. He made himself even cooler when he gave up his 50 cigarette day smoking habit in 2004, out of respect and love for his baby daughter.

He even turned down a knighthood. I mean how fucking cool is that?

NIN are quite weird, in a good way like. Closer is a class song! I personally can listen to most genres of music it ranges from dance to pop to hip hop to rock. But I'm a self confessed metal head :rockon

I love it, fucking amazing. My favourite bands would include stuff like; Bury Your Dead, Job For a Cowboy, Deicide, Parkway Drive, METALLICA (old school like), Megadeth, All Shall Perish, Caliban, Hatebreed, Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura...the list goes on and on.. I also love stuff like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Scissor Sisters, Bob Dylan...etc...etc

So my music is VERY wide and varied.

    NIN fans...i gotta ask

Do you think that NIN version of hurt or Johnny cashes version is better?

I goes with Johnny cashes ESPECIALLY when you watch the video to me it just has a certain quality that makes it seem SO much deeper.

NIN is an awesome band:rockon , dispite the fact that Reznor's damn sexy for his age his music kicks ass. I dig the older bands to, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Sex pistols and such. Ultimate favorite bands are Nirvana, Orgy, Saliva, slipknot, Manson, Black Sabbath, twisted sister, Duran Duran (nothing beats the 80's), Blink-182(they're a great band and i'm sticking to that thought regardless of outside critisism:p ) and a few others.

Yeah, Some of Mansons songs aren't that great but on every album theres at least two - three golden ones. I think he does it on purpose to ensure that he sells albums.
