Do any of you find erotic lit as stimulating as porn?
I love to read erotic lit....Great for the imagination...i dont mind watching porn , but words have more power
For me visual porn is great for instant sexual gratification. Just a shame they don't normally incorporate a decent story to make the explicit sex more impactive.
Erotic Literature is something else. That for me has far more capacity to stimulate my mind and imagination.
And while I might watch the first 15 minutes of a porn movie before you know what, an Erotic book will keep me engaged for a couple of hours until I've finished it!
Sometimes I do... sometimes I don't... it kind of depends on the mood I'm in
I love lit. In fact, I was on an erotic lit forum when I came across a link to :sf
I think it depends on my mood and the type of stimuli I am looking for. Now reading a bit of erotic literature while watching please fuck my wife 4 ...heaven! lol
Sometimes, Depending on why it was written.
and if their is truth in it, Such as a Woman
telling of a real experience. Pure fiction no.
Literature to me is more erotic than visual stuff...
purely because I have a rich and imaginative fantasy life going on...
that is why i find fictional stuff maybe a little more erotic because its often created from the realms of the imagination...
Reality often bores me.....!
If we are talking about real litirature here eg. Anais Nin, Henry Miller, de Sade, Von Masoch etc. Then the mental stimulation brought on by these masters of the craft is much stronger ( for me ) than porn, although I am a big fan of the latter.
But written smut is less effective then the visual representation of the same act, I believe, for most people.
I do recall though getting very aroused reading Penthouse Forum when I was a teen. (Maybe younger people just have a better imagination )
Cook, I think you may be onto something. I write smut and post it here and it seems most of the guys making comments are young. Hmm, I think I need to work on my writing to turn on that over 19 market.
Perahps i still have that teenage mind thing going on.
because i stand firm by the fact i get off on erotic lit far more than i do with porn.
being as most porn is pure fake.
I think that erotic writings are more of a female thing. i am surprised by the number of girls that read that stuff.
I think a lot of females enjoy erotica..you dont think all these womens mags are all about shoes and shopping hehehe...
and Ann summers parties i am sure theres some stories the femles tell in there that would be highly erotic
I guess I have to agree with Cook to some extent, but in general I do prefer written to visual simply because the imagery is left to my imagination. If I do not find the actors attractive then the porn is quickly ruined. Of course, bad writing can quickly ruin an erotic lit. I guess when it comes down to it, when its bad it doesn't matter if it is pics, film, or lit, it is still bad.
I prefer stories to porn any day. Porn always seems really fake and "greasy"? Its hard to explain, I just like using my imagination with it.
There is a difference between an erotic story and written porn! I first got into writing through erotic short stories, as I came across a UK writing site that had some terrible stories (by my standards). Most of my feedback came from women, with some from men, and most of them enjoyed the way I set up the characters and scenarios rather than the sex itself.
I now have a published novel in mainstream literature, which is cool. It also has two sex scenes. In normal literature, sex scenes are used as part of the story-telling, as you do with a film. In one instance, bad sex shows the end of one relationship and the other is very lovey-touchy-feely sex to show the beginning of something new and intense. Sex is used as a stake in the ground: from here on they are a couple in love. The sex scenes were put in deliberately, as I wanted to write genre fiction with good characters and good character relationships, and sex is one way to intensify a relationship. Sex scenes are also something that many mainstream authors struggle with, so some good sex scenes added to the uniqueness of my novel.
definitely like it i have to be in the mood to really sit down and read it.
Absolutely love to read erotic lit. I do have a vivid imagination though :brow
I have started to write some erotic lit, but have not had the courage to post it on here yet.....
I dig the Erotic Lit just as much as the visual. I've been able to keep the imagination I had when I was a kid, and that combined with some good erotic reading material can go a long ways.
