I like picking specific ringtones for specific reasons for specific people. The reason why is cause i picked one for Mapco, and everytime i heard that ringtone (the chorus to fuel) i would shudder in anxiety (cause either i fucked up or they wanted me to work for someone who couldn't or wouldn't show up) and still do when i listen to that part of the song. I felt it was awesome i developed such an association. So i try very hard to do specific tones. I think for my new job i'm gonna use Rammstein's Du Riechst So Gut ("you smell so good") as the best i can think of for an association i hope to create :)

i think i'm too picky because i'll always look for a specific part of a song and usually thats the only part that i cant find or the song i want won't fit as a ringtone so i get stuck with the same thing for a year ;(

Stock ringtones are boring. :p I like my things to be *mine*. Custom ringtones are an easy way to do that.

I also use vibrate along with my ringtone, but I might as well turn vibrate off because my nerves have gotten so used to high power on my hitachi that the vibration of my EVO doesnt do a thing in my pocket :lol

I used to joke (before i was married) that i would use Die Die My Darling (hte metallica cover) for my SO as the ringtone, now that i've gotten married even as the intended joke i can't bring myself to do it :(
