I have to move soon and have been trying to figure out if there is a way that I can save some of my emails that are in folders. Does anyone if this is possible? I can't keep the same service provider.

I recently tried getting a new email account on yahoo and somehow screwed that up!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to save the email files? Hardrive or disk is fine.

Thanks for helping! I am not very computer savvy.

All i can suggest is saving them in Word the coping them to a harddrive or disc.

Might be an easier way to do it - i'm sure someone will suggest something more efficient!

Didnt want to read and run x

What email client are you using, e.g. "Microsoft Outlook", "Mozilla Thunderbird", etc.?

The steps needed would be different for each program.

If you are using your current ISP's webmail you can set up somethin like Windows live mail and download all your mail to your pc.

As he is moving IPS I would assume it would be one of those like Virgin, BT & AOL in the UK.

He should just be able to set up another email account from his new ISP then forward all previous emails to his new account.

If she is anything like me, she could have 1000+ emails. That would be a bitch to toward one at a time.

With the email client like windows live mail, outlook, thunderbird, etc. The mail can be downloaded from the isp the taken with her.

Most isp's when you close the account you lose access to the mail.

    Fair comments buddy.

It must be different in the US compared to the UK, I had a virgin account where I got my internet & email then cancelled it after a few months but still have the email address 7 years later.

Yeah, every phone company you can get email/internet/phone from. The email they give you is attached to the account with them.

This is why I run a Gmail account, doesn't matter who I have as a provider or were on the 3rd rock from the sun I am I can get at my mail. Use the ISP address for billing with them and thats it.

Thanks for all the replies. It's not windows live. I'll check to see what it is.

To forward or copy and paste is not an option as I have too many.

    Thanks for the input!
