Let's talk comic books. Please no rivalries or franchise competition. So, if you're a comic book fan say I and recommend a storyor character to read about.

I recommend the Planet Hulk series or Wolverine Origins series.

I loved the New 52 Batman series, the Joker arc is particularly good.

MCU for movies, DCEU for TV(but I'll probably watch the movies too).
I think I'm way past the actual comic book stage though, no patience for it. What I'd love to see is a live action TV Xmen adaptation that matches the motif of the late 90's animated series, as well as a fleshed out movie series/trilogy of DCs ,Blackest Night" arc.
I also really hope the upcoming Justice League teases a lot more heroes even if they have no intention of going deep into their respective characters. And based on the trailers I'm going to be especially disappointed if we don't get a Green Lantern out of it...and it better be John Stewart.

Loved Death of the Family, I’ve still to get Joker’s one so I can see his perspective but it was phenomenal writing from Snyder.

Hal Jordan's been done, and i don't really care for Kyle Rayner..I think JLU cartoon John Stewart is who they need to go with, and can even eke out a solo movie with Hawkgirl as a love interest/fellow hero.

This love story is not a cannon and John is as interesting as a wooden plank , in the comics to be honest.

Didn't Jimmy Olsen die in the 1st DCEU Superman movie lol? I think if canon was the threshold, we'd have a very different MCU as well.
I'll take your word for his personality in the comics, most of what I've read is Hal or Kyle, but what I alluded to earlier was JLU cartoon John Stewart. Where Hal was an exercise in conquering fear, John damn near personified willpower, and had an intriguing love triangle with Hawkgirl and Vixen(both in play thanks to CW).
From a marketing standpoint and as a POC, I think he'd potentially provide a worthy box office parallel for what MCU has done with Black Panther. Don't get me wrong, I like Cyborg and all but he kind of has the emasculated black man trope going for him, and his bread and butter right now is the comedy chops he's sharpening on Teen Titans Go!(i have kids lol). Meanwhile Marvel dunks on American consciousness by giving us James Bond, Capt. America, and Tony Stark rolled up in one melanin laden person..unless the DCEU plans on retconning(Mystiquing) Will Smith Deadshot into the JL ranks, GL John Stewart is their best bet.

He will appear in the green lantern movie. He and Hal will have a buddy cop movie.

I read The Walking Dead comic books currently. I am 2 behind the latest so up to issue 170.

When I was younger I had a huge collection of MAD Magazine (170 of the first 200 published but in bad condition unfortunately) and also had a lot of early 2000 AD comic books from 80s.

Although I loved super hero cartoons as a kid when it came to comic books I only liked Wolverine (he was a bad ass before Hugh Jackman hehe) and bought some of his specials.

I’ve only read the first three novels in The Walking Dead series, I’m thinking about buying the compendium instead of each separate novel.

Best and cheapest way to read all of those back issues. Worth the read too, I mean I love the show but the books are so much better.

I must state that Kyle is one if my favorite Lanterns simply because, to me, he brought out the creative potential a GL possesses.

Honestly the concept of more than one Earth GL was very intriguing to me because they really embodied different aspects of what the Green spectrum was about. Hal was about the conquering the Yellow weakness of fear, Kyle as you said was great demonstration in how necessity driven by willpower brings about ingenuity, and John was damn near an avatar of Willpower itself. There's a fourth right? I can never remember
