As I said recently in another post I am a 40yr old married male. My wifes sex drive is no longer near as strong as mine so I'm usually left wanting. We work opposite shifts so I am usually left with plenty of "alone" time. I like taking time (almost everyday) to masturbate while chatting with people about sexual topics and looking at porn on the net. This can sometimes go on for 2 to 3 hours and a couple of the ladies I chat with are ones that I have met or chatted with on the phone so I know they are real.
My question how any people here think that chatting sexually in a chatroom is the same as cheating or is it an alright way to satisfy yourself without actually having a physical affair with someone?

I've seen this discussed several places around the Net over the years, and there is no consensus on the issue. I suppose a married person who doesn't want his or her spouse to get upset needs to approach the issue with caution.

There is a delicate nature to this I think. On one hand - it isn't true cheating - you are not physically touching anyone. Unfortunately you are communicating with people, getting aroused and having something similar to phone sex but on line.
I guess it comes down to how you would feel if hypothetically you found out that your wife was chatting with anonymous men and masterbating. I thought about this and stopped the chatrooms. I commiserate. If I need arousal I do recommend good ol fashioned porn.
There is also something else to think of. One of those discussions may sometime lead to a temptation you may wish never came up.
I wish my wife's sex drive was more too. Perhaps you could talk to her about it. If she knows that you do it and doesn't care then it is absolutely guilt free fun!!!

I would recommend hanging out in the porn area - cuz once you actually 'make contact' with another person - I think the cyber-sex becomes...kind of real.
As a wife, I went through many dry-spells, sexually. My hubby had to decide- Do I want to get some sort of satisfaction - or do I want to work at this?- He could have got on-line and chatted.
I'm so glad he had faith in our marriage. I finally came around. Our love and sex is FAR better now! He did have to masturbate for years (other than the few times I felt like having sex) maybe once a month :ugh - but, I swear to G-d!! - We have never been happier.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do - but if you love her, hang in there. It's worth it! :toast
    imho

If you feel guilt about the matter, then obviously somewhere inside you consider it cheating. If you would be ashamed to be found out by your spouse then it is a form of cheating.

If you and she are comfortable with it in all ways then I see no problem. Cheating through masturbation is more of a matter of personal guilt than anything else.
